oh wow that link is amazing! I'm shocked that chase is alive let alone living a showbiz lifestyle! still looking good for the camera lol

Im so desperate for him to beat this hurdle and live another 6-8yrs! He was a rescue cat and only had half his tail left when we got him, he was ferrall and liked to bite people! obviously now hes learnt how to behave himself! He was run over about 7yrs ago and ended up losing his meow so i know hes a fighter!
I guess now its just going to be a waiting game to see if the swelling goes down,0 -
well his tube is in and hes recovered well from the aneasthetic
im going in to visit tomorrow an will be allowed a cuddle so im looking forward to that! hopefully a familiar smell will remind him of home and why he needs to get better asap! 0 -

That's excellent news!!! I'm so pleased for you! :A
He must be showing good signs of recovery if they risked an anaesthetic to insert the NG tube, so fingers firmly crossed for you both

Good luck tomorrow x0 -
Good luck from me too.
I can't bear eating hospital food, the smell of the place, the sounds, separation from my family, so if I were in with a battered face, the last thing I would want to do is chomp my way through dinner.
My cats have refused to eat when at the vet's too, but they've been discharged when everything else seems fine and promptly headed for the food bowls upon release from the basket.
Perhaps your cat feels the same way.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

I don't have any new advice to offer....just want to offer sympathy and encouragement. I am glad they have put in a feeding tube so he is getting some nourishment until he regains his appetite.
Don't give up yet...give it time for the swelling to go down...get him home soon. I have seen sites talk about syringe feeding...but would second suggestions for sardines or Thrive cat treats. My bunch LOVE them0 -
Oh and one more thing...
I was hit by a car when I was nine years old. When I finally came round i was swollen and bloodied with most of my teeth missing. I would not eat the hospital food...in fact could not taste anything at all so had no appetite.. so I can understand how he is feeling.
Ham sandwiches and strawberry yoghurt tempted me......xx0 -
couldnt read and run - hope your poor cat gets better soon.
i read this on a forum about aids cats when i had my last cat (who had feline aids) to tempt cat to eat - give them the 'melt' from frozen meats. actually, my cat did love this - not often, just as a treat as his appetite was good untill his last few days and this was the only thing (apart from salmon) he would eat.
his favourite meal was chicken chow mein (in foil container) but at the last he could only lick the juices in it.0 -
I suppose another thing to consider, is whether there is any food he goes wild for at home - one of mine used to go crazy for a nibble of marmite on toast! If there is anything he normally makes a fuss for, then maybe try some tiny morsels of that, in addition to some nice stinky fish0

Oh I am in such suspense waiting to hear how your Cat is.. I am so happy though to see so many people all helping, it must be so sad to go through all this on her own.:j I can't do it all on my own, I'm no Superman!:j0
