The airport scene was quite a shocker

And quite a few mums and dads think the games are fine to play for their 12 yr old

  • The game does actually give you the option to skip the gruesome bit's at the beginning of the game... So people under 18 can play it without seeing the nasty things.

But its still a game where the sole aim is to shoot and kill people so kids under the age of 18 shouldn't really be playing such things. I'd be a little more lienient with say a 17, maybe 16 year old, but theres no way anyone could convince me that its ok for a 15 year old or under to see such things.

does that mean under 18's should not be allowed to play games like space invaders were the aim is to shoot and kill things?

Seriously? That's your argument?? There is a massive difference between "killing" pixelated icons that don't even resemble a living creature and shooting a person in the head and watching their blood spray all over the place!

Your argument simply doesn't stand up and I'm going to take a wild guess and say you're under 18 and that's why your fighting a losing argument!

    I don't agree.

It's the parents responsibility to decide whether they feel the content is something they feel comfortable exposing their child do. My parents had similar decisions to make when I was younger, but them letting me play the games I wanted to and it never harmed me.

I see your point to a degree and I remember my parents buying a the original Resident Evil when I was 14, but the graphics in computer games now are so realistic even down to the physics of how the blood splatters.

This kind of game is just too graphic to allow a minor to play, its right up there with GTA ans Manhunt in my books. Kids shouldn't be seeing this kind of imagry when their minds are still developing, they get de-sensitised to it and all of a sudden a generation or two down the line, this kind of behaviour is deemed "normal".

When you a child, that's the time for your parents to instil some value's into you, when you grow up into a young adult you should then be mature and well adjusted enough to handle this kind of thing. Young kids are far too impressionable for this stuff.

It's just fine for an adult, but our nannying government will try to spoil the fun if they can. Go back to 1994 and people were moaning about the "Ludicrous Gibs" mode in Rise of the Triad, Doom Quake et.al
