You should have had canapes, then they take you around again for free.

  • Was there any indication prior to the flight, that you would be expected to drink all the champagne, and that you would not be allowed to take any away with you?

I can see why the OP might be miffed if they didn't know they would have to guzzle it down or lose what they don't drink.
  • No, No indication that it had to be drunk or it would be lost before, prior to or during the flight

As I say its more the principal of it than the actual losing out. I paid for it and the staff drink it once they close for the night!!

If you were in a pub, and it was closing time, would you expect the landlord to allow you to take your unfinished drinks with you? Yes, you have paid for that drink, but you are only entitled to drink it in that location. Are you expecting them to stop the wheel, inconveniencing hundreds of others, so you can drink the wine at your own pace?

Complain anyway ... you're obviously miffed about it.

DH and I couldn't have drunk a bottle of champagne in half an hour either.

Expect to get nothing back though, and that way if you do it'll be a pleasant surprise, and if you don't you're no worse off.

Well being a tight wad if I haven't finished a bottle of wine at restraunt then I ask for the cork so i take it home with me.

OP I presume this is the bit that miffs you? I would just have takken the bottle.

maybe they weren't expecting someone who would pay that amount of money on a ferris wheel ride to get hung up on half a bottle of booze

£300 for a thirty minute ride on a glorified big wheel? No wonder you feel ripped off!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Why didn't you just put the bottle under your coat and take it with you, then embark on classy swigging from the bottle??

I would have either taken it with me, or refused to get off!

(saying that, I would have drunk my half of the bottle in the 30 mins... HIC!)

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
