    Morning All

MSD - positive thoughts and wishes for Tris. Oh and you of course!
Cranky - good to hear that you're keeping busy and sounding positive
celyn90 - so sorry to hear of your loss (((((hugs))))))

A very busy weekend in the Lowesy household! Masses of children and family around and don't seem to have stopped. Why is it that your own time goes so quickly, yet when at work it drags something chronic?!?!?

Speaking of work, DH drove me in this morning. Seeing as he has to drive to get where he works and he goes past my place every day, I figured I'd just go in a bit earlier (and perhaps leave a bit earlier - will have to sweet-talk the boss!) and save on the tram fare. And of course save me having to bite the heads off of unruly children :rotfl: Will have to get the tram home, but it's not so bad then.

We had a massive roast yesterday as my SD's were over for my Dad's birthday, so tea tonight is inevitably bubble and squeak with a mountain of red cabbage, cooked with apple and vinegar (over-estimated how much the cabbage would cook down :o) good job Mum and Dad like it too!

Have a lovely day all. Hugs in abundance!

    xx

  • Morning all! Blessings to those that need them today, have brain like a sieve so have forgotton names and circumstances already, but know that I feel for each of you going through a tough time.

Had a week's 'holiday' last week, DH had a week off work but we spent it at home. He got to do all the jobs he wanted to like boarding the loft, cutting back trees, re-felting the shed roof, painting the shed, tinkering on his computer whereas I just managed to make Christmas cake on top of having a pretty normal week! We did have some shopping trips out to buy all the things we've been putting off as DH has just started his new job with a raise. Also spent the week battling with DD and sleep, but think we've got there now. Such a shame because she's always been so good!

WM on and BM will be on for DD's tea just before we pop out to our bible study this morning. Tea is leftover lasagne, but can only have it when DH gets back from his run (he bought special shoes last Christmas and has used them once). Mind you, since DH's commute for the next 7 weeks is 90 mins each way, don't think he'll be in the mood for running!

    Have a good day all

Diva - sending (((ugs))) to Tris and you too x

Celyn - sorry to hear about your uncle x

Sunflower - hope you're feeling better today (((hugs)))

PP - how are you? not noticed you posting lately and am worried(((hugs)))

day off today - well sort of. I'm off to do some spring cleaning for the ladys house I look after while she is in the USA - she's got a house in Florida so hope that storm doesn't reach her!
Later I'm doing up a bedside cabinet a neighbour was throwing out - its a nice pine one that had got some paint spilled on it.
I've done up the pine chest of drawers we rescued from going in a skip.:T

Washing machine is on, house cleaned. Tea is bubble and squeak cakes, mushrooms, eggs and beans with something meaty added for DH and DS.

DS2 has been offered more work at the hotel:j and went staff training yesterday evening to teach him silver service and table laying etc.

DS1 is moving into his first flat in a weeks time with his partner - they have no possessions so I will have to lend a hand and get them started.
So far they have a sofa, cooker, fridge and bedding and thats it - no kitchen items or anything else at all! This sounds expensive:rolleyes::D

Hope you all have a great day,
thinking of those who are having a tough time ATM x

    Morning chums,
and <<hugs>> to those in need. Youngest DGD has just been, and gone to her school placement. Did her the usual favourite of scrambled eggs on toast. She will scoff the lot down at my house but turn her nose up at it at home from her Mum, aren't 16 year olds contrary creatures.
Well I must get started on my essay this morning as I have Uni tonight, so I must try and get at least a draft copy in to my tutor,my brain cells seem to have atrophied to solid mush at the moment I am hoping for some inspiration, perhaps a strong coffee might help.;)
Tommorow I have my sis-in-law coming to visit for the day from Faversham, and on Wednesday I am cooking with my DD at her house.Apparently her new work colleagues go to one house once a week, and take it in turn to cook dinner for the others. So Tess is stressing about what to cook.I thought a lasagne, one meat, and a smaller one veggie, as one of them won't eat meat, and its easy to pre-prepare and just cover and heat when she gets there. We will make a nice cheesecake for pudding and that too can be pre-prepared.She is a good cook, but she is used to cooking for the tribe, so it will be good for her to cook something a bit different for a change.
Thursday I am visiting my DD's MIL in London for the day and am hoping to get some Christmas shopping done then Friday its back to college and blow me if thats not another week gone It seems to be flying past at the moment .I feel a bit like the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland ,'No time ,No time' !!!:rotfl::rotfl:well better get a move on or I won't get this essay started
Take care all, and have a good day.Very chilly in North Kent today, even a slight frost on the car this morning Brrr

Hilstep, they'll probably let something slip before the event LOL!

Good morning all. I'm going to try Flylady for a second week running. Didn't get everything done, but place is looking better.

washing on line, fine right now, WM on and DW on. Duck bones simmering and fridge tidy later.

Ironing the shirts from last week and then on with the kitchen. I want to get the floor scrubbed really well, as we need another layer of sealant on the travertine floor. Not in itself difficult, but there are nearly 80msq. Needs some holes filling as well.

I've now got my outline meal plan sorted for Christmas, so going to try and get all the puds put in the freezer. That will be a great help I think.

Yesterday I made a list of folks to send cards and will try and make some this week.

Getting there, hope you all are too, have a good day all.

Morning all. I've not been on since yesterday morning as I ended up back in bed all day with a migraine. I'm trying out different preventative medication so it looks like another trip back to the docs as this latest one needs tweaking. It's nothing really compared to some probs so I try not to moan.

WM has been on 3 times and there is another load but I'm running out of drying space :p I'll try the line for the towels as its frosty but very sunny here. Plans for today are to dust & vac through, do the bathroom, some more ironing, mend DS1's jeans and a few other little sewing jobs - buttons, hems etc. I enjoy it & will do it whilst listening to radio 4 this afternoon.

I haven't read through the thread for yesterday yet so will say HSz4ab4df5baf1fapurple.gif to anyone who needs one xx

Diva So pleased that Tris has come through more surgery he's one strong man!

Edited to add: Sunflower Huge hugs to you hon hope that it is a one off & it'll be better next time. You are in my thoughts xxx

    Morning all!

Revelling in the peace here today, all the kids are finally back at school! Much as I love having them around, it's also rather nice to have my routine back to normal!

OS stuff today so far has been throwing in washing, cooking full brekkies for all the troops (they've been spoilt during the hols with oh cooking them big brekkies when he gets home from doing brekkie at work!), making a huge batch of tom sauce for pizza and lasagne that I'm doing today, making pizza bases, roasting and burning a pile of peppers - pah! Now need to hoover all round, get into dd2 and dd3's room and clear and clean it (wish me luck!), chop and roast more peppers and pay attention this time, clean sitting room window sill which is covered in cat prints!

Lunch today will be pizza for me and oh, or we may pop out to a new restaurant/bistro place where a friend is now the chef, depends on how whacked oh is when he finally arrives home.

Lunch for the troops: hm sausage rolls/cheese and carrot sarnies, apple, cheese string, chunk of salami, bakewell tart.

Dinner will be roasted pepper and feta lasagne/pepper and mushroom pizza with feta (got a lot of feta and peppers at the mo!)

Best get a wiggle on, will pop back for a catch up later, hugs to all who need one xx

ps I'm very excited, I was given roses yesterday by oh, only the 3rd time I've ever been bought flowers!

Well, DD2 is tucked up on the couch with quilt and pillow, DS is in bed. DD1 is at school with no symtom's of cold  weird.

Bread is rising in cupboard, was going to make some bisciuts/cakes today but only 1 egg , gone through 15 since Weds and don;t have any oats.

Tea tonight pork chops with mash.

Bought a sack of spuds from farm shop they are delicious and some are really huuuuge, so jkt spuds may make an apperance on meal plan ;)
