Builders have finished putting plastic in window recesses (bit like plastic windowsills, but all the way round the windows). We noticed a difference last night so we are really hopeful that this will sort the damp stains round the windows. Have to finish decorating now.

    Hugs to everyone.

  • Still flying - I've amazed myself today - been so poorly for the last 10 days (sure it was piggy 'flu) and it is sooooo good to get going again.

    Since last post:

Ds delivered to and returned from activity afternoon - he had a good time :T
    Mini-shop done.
Dd has arrived home and is cluttering up the place - all long legs, school uniform, bags and shoes everywhere
More filing done - where does all the carp come from - ugghhhh
    Bedroom hoovered
    Hallway hoovered
Ventured into ds's room - VERY quick tidy before legging it out of there.
    Lunchtime dishes washed and dried.

Starting to flag now. Later peepsxxx

Toots thanks for that star :D

Can I have a quick rant please? I have had a terrible day and need to offload. We were doing some hill-walking with work today as we have to pass an annual navigation criteria. I was given a group with 2 other girls, 1 who is perfectly able and 1 who definately is NOT, she normally pulls a sicky. The flat bit was fine but the minute we started going up the first hill she started moaning and crying saying she was in pain. As I am used to it I tried to encourage her and we eventually got to the top (which took far too long). I had to report it to our safety guys so they were aware and I was told to find one of the wandering guys at the bottom to have a chat. To cut a long story short, we ended getting pulled off the walk so have to do it again in the next few weeks. When we started walking back along the track it was amazing the speed she got up. I had a chat with one of the hierarchy when I got back to see if I had done the right thing. We have decided that maybe I should have tried to push her a bit more and this is what I have to do next time while the other girl gets to go in a group with people who are able  A few of the others have said they would do exactly the same as me, you never know if it is a boy who cried wolf thing. However it was my first chance to try and shine in my new role at work and I feel as though I have failed. I wanted to get it off my chest here as we are off to the hospital later so OH doesn't need any of this.

    Anyway...

    Extras
    1. Make sure you have christmas cards.. especially those 'special' ones you get.. you know daughter/mother/husband etc

Glad you are home and get that heating on to warm you up girl. Silly question coming up - would a dehumidifier help with our awful condensation

Thanks Dusty. House has warmed up a bit while I was out, but weather is horrid. I'm going to close the blinds & curtains, then nip out to do my shopping (all part of my plan to keep awake!) before coming back, having a bath and going to bed.

Yes... the dehumidifier would DEFINITELY help with your condensation. It's much more effective than heating.
