ajmoney - Sorry to hear about your OH's father. I lost both my father and uncle within 2weeks of each other in February of this year. Has his diagnosis of dementia been confirmed? The reason I am asking is because although my uncle was showing signs of dementia, on further investigation when moved to a different hospital for scans they showed up a cancerous tumour on the brain. He deteriorated very very quickly after this. I hope you dont mind me asking and feel free not to reply if you dont want to :o

Yes, he was diagnosed with vascular dementia in September. He had a brain scan last week when his speech went a bit slurred and they have confirmed the clot on his brain (I guess this is part of the dementia) has got bigger. He may be in a hospital but I am not sure he is in the right place or getting the right support, or maybe I am being paranoid.

DD1 has left college, apparently a tutor has decided that she is too behind in her work and will not catch up, she was fine for the other subjects though but they have a new policy and if one tutor says no then they have to leave. Others tutors have strongly hinted that she should return but not take any subject with that tutor as she has a reputation (the tutor not my daughter)!!! DD1 relieved and has a Connexions appointment on thursday and will see what her options are, she does intend to go back to college next year though which is something. Something will come up.

There are part time position going at laser quest and game station if she can handle it??.. Any good?

I hope she is a little happier now she no longer has the pressure of college around her now.

It is a difficult and very heart rendering situation. I am sure you are not being paranoid - we just want the best for them and it is hard to know what 'best' is. Familiarity is important to them and I hope things improve for you and OH

Don't think I am going to fly today, will catch up when I do tomorrow's list. I am cooking dinner at the mo (we didn't eat until 9.30 last night ) and I have made sure everywhere is tidy, just a quick wipe round the bathroom to do.

  • Wow!!!
It's the simple things that make a difference:o my settee is old and needs re-covering. It was a hand down from my mum and she spent over a thousand on it ten years ago, so better to re-do than buy new. I have throws on it to cover the patches and tidy them every day.

Today I took them all off, shook them and put them back. It looked SO much better! Why didn't I think of it before?

Also the man has been to fix my gutter/roof/flashing problem so tomorrow I can blitz the bedroom. As everything has been moved away to make room for the buckets, it's been pointless doing it, so tomorrow, me and my trusty binbags will attack it with a vengeance.

No other flying done other than basics, S&S kitchen and bathroom.
