I'd advise contacting the Anne Summers head office and explaining the whole story. I doubt if any reputable organisation would want a party host treated in such a shabby manner by one of their representatives who is unable to remain sober on the job.

(Damn, tried for no innuendo, but wee one slipped in at the end.)

i used to be an ann summers rep, and i NEVER drank alcohol whilst working, i used to have a cup of tea or glass of water cos i used to get thirsty with all the talking i did. i also used to know exactly what was in my kit and didn't leave until it was all back in my bag neat and tidy. at some parties you had to be the responsible adult cos your customers would all be merry as newts - never had the police called though.

an organiser near me did get finished for taking her clingfilm to parties so the ladies could "try before they bought"

i would ring head office, when i worked for them that sort of behavour would not be tolerated

    Hosting a Party
    1. You must be female
    Becoming an Organiser
    1. Organisers must be female 18 years and over

Is that legal? Surely it would fall foul of the sexual discrimination laws.

There are some exceptions legally and this must be one, you could contact the company if you want to enquire about this

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • I as a Party Organiser for Ann Summers for 9 months + have recently experienced someone stealing from my kit not nice from my point of view but, then again I don't make a habit of getting sloshed with my customers. However from a PO's point of view the kit should have been checked up to 7 days after the event and providing the PO hasn't partied since that party then her stock is up for checking. I had to 'toys' to the value of £50 taken on contacting the hostess (terms & conditions apply here) I let her know that 2 toys had been taken and that she had 14 days to find the £50 to replace them as i would not accept 'used' toys back into my kit for hygiene purposes which I'm sure you can all understand. Althou it escapes me why they'd want to steal demo toys anyway?? The police will open up a query as they did in my case however, on doing this they found the hostess I had partied with was known for this type of thing and basically I had to find out the hard way!! Hard way my foot!! In this instance I have simply contacted my head office CS department who confirmed the name was known and they have put a block on the customer's order. The other thing that went against the hostess I partied with was I've held party's at some of her guests houses and all items were paid for up front as requested nothing stolen so I have absolutely no reason to suspect those!! So the hostess looks bad in anyway shape or form!!

Yes I'm waffling but I'm trying to give you an idea of what a professional organiser will do! I won't stand for my kit being taken but, nor will i get drunk either and even my kit got nicked!! I sat on my kit the whole night as I felt an atmosphere.. well while helping a customer with an order form that's how quick they took the stuff. I found the police very helpful just the hostess decided to be a silly moo and move house and harass me without further details....

As for checking to see whether she pays the correct amount of tax?? Thats just mean a lot of women do this for extra cash have you never earned the odd pound here an there doing a 'favour' for someone?? Party planners are known to earn pennies in comparison to others and mainly taken this job because it doesn't interfere with looking after young children like myself... it isn't a guaranteed income nor is it amazing amounts!! Take in to consideration the fact the hostess herself has to get a discount of 10% if £180 is spent at the party..then there are other incentives you have to offer in order to retain your customers.. so all in all while it seems like an excellent money making scheme in reality its pennies!

    Not at all.

If you are not capable of checking your stock correctly, then and there at the end of a party - then that's your problem. It's not up to the hostess to "find" £50 to replace your stock because it's taken you days to go through what you have or haven't remembered to pick up.

You're essentially accusing the hostess of theft! If you ever did that to me, you'd better make yourself scarce.

Yeah, my point was more if your wife had placed the order that the party organiser may withhold her goods as in that thread. Looby never did get her £20

    Good luck!
I didn't get it back off that organiser but one of my friends stared doing AS parties and she gives me a discount on anything I buy from her (worryingly most purchase from AS are for my daughter now  Only PJ's and underwear though :rotfl:)

The organiser that ripped me off was eventually banned by AS it seems that there were quite a few complaints about her so eventually AS had to stop washing their hands of the situation and do something about her.

That said I would NEVER buy from AS again other than through my friend who I know I can trust.
  • i have to say my guest book speaks for itself and have never had stuff taken in this manner i DID check my kit on departure so much so that i even gave a lift to one of her guests... It does happen and its us as organiser who have to pay for it.. just cos i come into your house to party does not give you the customer the right to steal it!! I mean would you insert something into your bits knowing full well it had been handled by at least 100+ people?? no i don't think so!! I'm not here to !!!!! but is the hostesses responsibility to ensure ALL avenues have been checked!! I as an organiser do report it as theft and have good cause to. If you were my next door neighbour and playing with my toys i wouldn't expect you to walk off with them either!! These are demo toys DEMO not for internal use or any other... for health purposes so surely if u do get dry skin or far worse from these demo toys then on ur own head be it! It's like this for a reason??

I personally would/could not steal from an ann summers PO even when i was a customer the mere thought of the implications is enough.. but then again is goes to show that todays society is well ... undisciplined yobs!
