Well done on the no spends challenge

Thanks Jellie, it is super tough (no coffees in work :() but its been fab! I ahve realised I don't need things just because they are there, I also don't need things because other have them... Eye opening :D

So big update... I am no longer on CD. Its been nearly a year and I have mentally had enough, I can't face it anymore. Also the prospect of another 4/5 months on it costing another £1k isn't sensible. SoI am going back to callorie counting and fitness. I should really increase my rent back up to £170 a month but Mum has agreed it can stay at £120 a month :j However I have said I will be buying my own grocerys (the major stuff) and I will also sign back up to the CC website (£10 a month). So I should save about £140 a month which brings my DFD forward and I can start saving soon :T

So payday tomorrow and I definatly will clear Argos now :j

Plod on my little followers :D

Pap, I think you are doing the right thing too. Its not much fun doing something when your heart's not really in it. You sound much happier today.:)
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

    Hi

Don't know much about CD but agree that if your heart's not in it stopping is the right thing to do. Saw your pics a couple of months ago (Bunny's party?) - you look amazing :A

I think that's the right decision PAP, you can do it without CD - you're Superpap!

Can I ask how much your total loss was?

  • Thanks all :T Its the right decision for the here and now, I could be on it forever because of my medical condition and now excercising. I just don't have that desire anymore. I love me now, how I am. If I callorie count and exercise and lose more weight then thats good. If I don't I am cool with that, as long as I maintain is all I am after :D It also means I 'save' over £120 a month  Gem I lost 6st 2lb so not too bad, I have to lose just over more 3 stone fro bmi 25 but I am not too bothered about it now...

So payday :j Everything has gone out, all bills are payed except direct debits that are due out. I have lent Mum £27 but thats good because it covers a meal out in mid May (before payday) I have got a huge grocery shop (£50 for over 70 items) and I did buy a new shopping tote for 99p in the 99p shop :rotfl:

So after all that I have payed off £198.97 from my debt today  :j... That leaves only £179.95 debt on my credit card at <3% :D

In my bank now I have ~ £183.50 and the following is due to go out ~
    £16.00 ~ House ins
    £12.50 ~ Line rental
    £21.00 ~ internet savings
£90.00 ~ argos (I have classed this as payed regarding the debt but it wil take 2days to go out of the account)

So that leaves £44.00 for the remaining month. I will not need anything apart from send a parcel and top up my fruit and veg. I am determind to make this a no spend month (minus the meal out/collection) :D

So I didn't save anything for holiday however thats because I will have at least £230 spare next month after biils/food. I am planning to keep £130 for holiday and then have £100 for the debt, except of course if I do overtime ;)

So thats me, even closer to being debt free. There is one thing though, my calorie counting site (yes I pay for one, its the one I used before) costs £10 a month. I am planing on using my credit card for that, as it a rolling contract type thing. So my debt will increase by £10 this month and the next however once my debt is cleared I will just transfer the £10 into my credit card each month before interest is added :D

    :j Happy Thurday :j

    Keep on plodding....
  • Pap. I said I was catching up with your diary, and I am, so I have cheated and jumped ahead a few pages ;)

But I have to say - you are AMAZING. Your determination and perseverance with CD is truly inspiring. That part of your journey is over now and I am glad you have made the right choice for you and hope you feel empowered by it :j I love that you do it all YOUR way. Really. You're FAB :j

Thanks DD :A I really love the last comment. If I were in this position last year I would have plod on and did it because I would be worried what my consultant would think etc however now its all about me and I don't want to do it anymore. I could if I put my mind to it but in fairness I want some of my pay packet back :rotfl: Plus it's a long-term thing now, CD gave me the jump start now I am alone. I will be fine, just you watch me...

So I have kinda added to my debt, only buy £47. This banana-man I am doing in October I needed to book a room for I was planning to book it nearer the time. However Thursday the Travelodge sale started so instead of getting a room for £80 for two nights I could get one for £44 for two nights. I thought about it for a few days but because my debt is <3% I thought it was a huge saving. Plus it will be cleared by June and Mum is paying half :D So a really good saving that I couldn't pass up.More debt :( But great saving

    Keep on plodding all :j

    Go Pap!:T

Very pleased that you've come to a point where you know clearly what you want. The CD has worked for you but now it's time for you to find your natural weight/exercise/life balance.

What are you planning to save for once the debt's gone?
