My cats went mad for this! It keeps a reasonable length of time in the fridge - I put in a freezer bag & opened it v gently. I think it's fantastic value for money - ie quality & price.

I love my kitties but room temperature catfood makes me wanna wretch. As they are given 95% dry they will eat wet at any temperature they can get it!

I have read that cats like their food at room temperature and they don't like to eat it cold from the fridge but i didn't realise it could cause upset tummies!

Sorry, my fault for rushing and not clarifying what I mean again :o

As it wouldn't be refridgerated it wouldn't stay fresh for as long as I'd need it to so wouldn't want to risk upset tummies from feeding "off" fish.

My cats are old ladies now, in their late teens, and although I could be tempting fate by saying this, neither have been ill or had diarrhoea for as long as I can remember so would like to keep it that way if possible ;)

that's ok i am good at misunderstanding people and also confusing them :rotfl:

So am i right in thinking that you don't keep cat food in the fridge because your cats don't like it cold so you buy wet food in small tins that they eat all in 1 go?

Oh yes absolutely, i wouldn't want to feed open cat food that had been lying around the house at room temperature for a couple of days either!

Realizing what I said, I tried to correct it and said, 'No, I mean, I just hope that I get some tonight!' After that, I decided to shut up."

To get round this, I serve first portion then repare secnd portion on a plate and refiridgerate the rest, when the ask for the second portion,I get the next lot ready to give at room temp next time...its less arduous thanit sounds. I keep a couple of small cans for quick meals if I haven't got ready. I think my two would trough a packet in a day though, if they like it :o I think we've decided to give this a go now.

Yes, I usually buy the small 70/85g tins or 100g pouches/trays, whatever is on offer wherever I happen to be buying at the time. Both cats will share one of these between them, whenever I decide to give it to them, usually 2-3 times a week.

Depends whether they're quick enough to catch me in the kitchen making my morning coffee and convince me enough they deserve it - rolling on the floor making doughy eyes whilst purring loudly will often do it! :rotfl: - as that's the only time they're allowed wet food, and they know it! :D

My two have just had there first portion of Bozita, and have fallen on it like little greedy- guts. I gave them quater of a pack, which looked like a biggish meal for them (their second of the day) and they cleaned the plate in a way they rarely do with a big meal...and came and asked for more, so as I speak they are tucking through another quater of tetra pack...ooh, just finished and seemingly satisfied now! Mine are pretty good weight wise, one is slightly over ideal, but only slightly, she is still within normal weight range for breed, the other, again within normal weight range, tends to be slightly under ideal..so I feed on demand, letting their appetites be the guide. The lighter eats more than the heavier, and more often and they are both very, very active cats.

This is a very encouraging first sign! I'm guessing enthusiasm is partly novelty, so one pack a day might hit the spot.

ETA: interestingly the girls normally want to go out at this time of day but have settled down for a nap looking smug and happy.
  • I've always been a bozita fan. As I have 4 cats its works out so much cheaper- they share a pack between then morning and night. If I were to feed them the cheapest asda cat food it would cost me more- £6 to feed them bozita and £7 to feed them asda pouches over the course of 3 days and its just fantastic stuff.

We took in a feral kitten and his coat was really rough and thin but now he has a coat like silk and my long-haired cat's coat doesn't get as many tangles which makes brushing him so much easier (his last owner never got him used to brushing so he usually bites if I find a tangle).

    that's good news LIR :D

the novelty has not worn off here yet but i have noticed they aren't eating as much of the dry food this last week.
i miscalculated and ran out of bozita :o
so got them some of the fishy feline fayre pouches to last them til saturday and they happily eat them but still seem to be hungry afterwards so i don't think they fill them up as much as the bozita does!

WPP, nice to see another user on here and i agree about the difference in coat

I have been feeding my 4 the Bozita tinned and after a little setling down they all seem to be loving it. I bought the tetra packs first but they were not quite so well received..might go back and try again now they are more used to the whole wet food approach.
I think that the high meat content of the Bozita means the cats are actually satisfied with slightly smaller portions and I could probably feed them all twice a day on one can if I was stricter!
I do store the can in the fridge but add a dash of hot water from the kettle to bring it up to mouse/room temperature. It is not a truly delicious smell but actually not too repulsive either which I think is a testament to the quality.
Overall I think it is a great brand...just wish it was available to buy locally rather than in bulk online only.

Paddypaws - you feed your 4 one tin between them each day? Or one between them in the morning and one at night? Just wondering as I have 4 too. They're pretty much exclusivly on raw but I have to mix a little canned in these days to get them to eat it. I also wanted to feed a good quality commercial food for when we are away and friends are feeding and they will also be going into a cattery shortly for a day or so whilst we move house (figured that would be less stressful for them) - I know that some people might not like to be asked to feed raw.

Am going to order some Bozita from zooplus I think.
