Hey all, thanks for your posts. Well I didnt chicken out I told him, was skirting around it in the beginning but before I knew it the tears were in my eyes and everything just fell out of my mouth literally. Anyhow, as most people have said he wishes I had told him earlier and not got myself into such a state because it isnt good for either myself or baby. We have worked out a little action plan between us doing a number of things e.g using money left to him by his dad, he has also been looking on the net for me to change my loan to a cheaper interest rate as I am paying quite a high one with the Natwest at the moment also transferring 2 of my credit cards to a 0% for 9 months account. So things are looking up. Have worked out though it will take roughly 5 years to pay it all off but it will be gone. He doesnt want me to be without a bank card as I suggested but I am transferring 90% of my wages from my account to the joint account so that all my bills can come out of there. The 10% (roughly £95) will be left for me to spend on petrol, putting some away for insurance & tax, toiletries and dog insurance!
I do feel like a wait has been lifted off my shoulder (not shoulders yet until I see the action plan working). Will still post my SOA tomorrow if thats okay in case you can think of anything else to save me money.
Oh yeah worked out as well its £16k of debt not £18k - me and my maths thats what got me in this mess in the first place!
Thanks again for your words of wisdom - those positive vibes must have done something. I know he is a bit angry/upset I didnt tell him before but I think he understands and is glad that I have told him now before it got much much worse.
Thanks again x0 -
Well done. Now go and have a good night's sleep, it's the middle of the night!

Phew, was worrying about you during the night!!!!
Looking forward to seeing your SOA so all the boffs can give you good advice.
As for my contribution, :grouphug: for you for being so brave. And :kisses3: to your hubby for being so supportive. The general theme on here seems to be yes, OH'a ARE upset when you tell them - but about the fact you kept it to yourself for so long, not about the debts.
Good luck! xA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

hey scw1,
that's great news! When you get a chance post your SOA and give details on your plan, I am sure people on here will be able to save you a few £££. I have just work out that this month I have saved/ paid off my debts to the tune of £500 and I only got paid last week!
Anyway, you must be shattered, I hope you had a good night's sleep.

Thats fantastic news! :T
All that worrying and he was fine about it!
You're still at the beginning of the road but at least you have found the road together.
I'm so pleased for you and your unborn child who I'm sure will be much happier now that its mum isnt so worried and stressed.
We're all here for you to help and support so come chat whenever you like.
Hugs x :grouphug:0 -
this was the first thread i checked when i got on here this morning and am pleased that it went so well.
congratulations to you for facing up to it and coming clean to your hubby. :T and well done to him for being so supportive.
there is nothing better than having a clear plan ahead of you. and i promise you, you will see that debt go down even before you know it, because you've decided to do something positive about it.
i wish you and your unborn and your hubby all the best on this new road of openness, honesty and clear intention. and i look forward to seeing your SOA to see where you can save a few pennies more.
