  • Final payment for 2010 made earlier today bringing my total for the year to £2,000 which is also my target! :D Only a few months ago I thought I wasn't going to reach anywhere near my target but glad I did. Recently reached under the £110,000 mark which was a nice milestone and made it seem even more worthwhile.

Will obviously be joining all again next year but haven't set a target yet. We've got a holiday planned for April 2011 so that will (and already has) eaten into the overpayments next year and would like a new kitchen surfaces at some point in 2011 so need to do some number crunching first. Also depends on where interest rates go, I don't think they are going much higher anytime soon but who knows.

  • No 177 checking in with my Dec & final OP in 2010 of £660.00

My original target was to OP £300 per month or £3600 in total but a combination of hard work, a few sales bonuses and a new job has meant my total 2010 OP has been £8,310.00. (£692 per month on average):)

Well done everybody else who has OP or contributed to this thread. It keeps you motivated and so I'm away to crunch some numbers, to work out my target OP for next year before registering on the 2011 thread.

Have a Merry Xmas - see you all next year.:D

    Hi Cake21

I would love to be included in the 2011 challenge, my target is £1200, hence £100 OP per month. I work in the public sector so reducing my mortgage is critical.

    Please can I join?

    Hello All and Merry Christmas!

Couldn't resist a little OP to round up the figures for 2010.
Just put December OP of £495 through, taking total for 2010 to £11000, £1000 over target despite OH being out of work for 3 months. I'm pleased with this total- may have draw some back in 2011 to buy a car and finish the house but at least we've saved interest for now.

Good luck to everyone for 2011, have a good Christmas.

    Congratulations Fluffysox,

Partly on the overpayment but mostly on the rounding!

Cake, I've had a bad six months and it's all gone wrong. I have no idea how much I've cleared as the savings I put aside for the mortgage have been used towards the buying of a new property. Soon I will have the equity from the old property but I really don't know where this puts me so I'm sorry I've had to drop out.
