but as there's been a new person each year of the challenge so far I just assumed someone else would fancy a go. Especially as I can't be the only person who's noticed Zavarony was much better at the personal comments and encouragement in the thread than me :rotfl:But hey, if there really isn't anyone who wants to have a go I'm happy to carry on.

#119 - £400 overpayment for November made0
-
Thought I'd get in early for November for a change.
As the regulars may have spotted, I've an automated overpayment which gets collected on the first of each month.
£500 OP was taken yesterday, which brings the year to date total to £5,500. One more overpayment in December to go (I'm on a fixed rate and can overpay by a maximum of £500), which will take me up to £6,000 ie my 2010 target.

I’ve had a PM from a member of the Mortgage Free in Three – Take 2 (MFiT-T2) challenge indicating that they would like to drop out of the challenge.
Not normally very exciting news, except that the challenger hasn’t recorded any payments during the challenge to date, thus I could remove the challenger to create a free slot and it wouldn’t effect the chart stats.
In other words, there’s a free space going.
We had a 12 month registration period, then this was locked down, and we are nearly 1 year into the challenge, so it’s a rare opportunity to get a foot in the door for the remaining 2 years…
Is there anyone interested in taking up a longer challenge?
First one to post a reply in the MFiT-T2 challenge thread can have the free slot:

Please don’t PM me. Want to make it public and visible to all that I’m being fair in a first come / first served basis.
Thanks,

I have an automated overpayment of £362 per month on my residential mortgage, my up to date balance now stands at 104655.14, a further £300 overpayment has been sent to my BTL mortgage.
I have been transfering some odd amounts to another bank account and there is £620 in there at the mo, so I will be trying to gather the amount up to £1000 and sent this to the Birmingham Midshires to come off the capital on my residential mortgage before the year end, I would love to get below £100K by Jan 2011.
Huge congratulations to Wynnvegas and Pencekeeper on your fanastic achievement, this has inspired me to really push down my mortgage and Im sure that it has inspired many other MFWs.0 -

My regular payment was credited to my account yesterday and so my balance is £7681.63. I have £5430 in my savings and after next OP at the end of this month and regular payment for December I will have a balance of approx £6441 left to pay. I think I can do this the first weekend in December. However, my DH is a bit wary of paying it off before the end of the deal because of the redemption penalty which is I think 2% of the outstanding balance times the number of months left to run on the deal. I am going to check this and get a redemption figure for early December anyway. I will be gutted if we don't make it! Will keep you posted!

Just made first ever Mortgage Overpayment of wait for it....a whopping £99
OK it's a symbolic gesture to bring the mortgage down to a roundish figure of £183900.
Next goal is to bring it dow to £183500 (which is what I thought the balance was until I got online today!!!)
Onwards and downwards so to speak!! :rotfl:
Just worked out DH will be paying 10p less interest next month because of my OP :j:j:rotfl: (Its an I/O mortgage for now).
