BROUGHT A ITEM OF EBAY NOW EBAY REFUNDING AS NO ITEM RECIEVEDI brought a it

Brought a item of ebay 3 wks ago £64.09 well i sent a cheque as didnt have enough in my paypal to cover this, well the company put a dispute in even i told them by email that the cheque has been sent and to allow for the postal strikes, well he then took the dipute as he thought the cheque had arrived but it didnt till today, well yesterday i contacted ebay about this and they are sending me a full refund to my paypal within 5 days. Now i contacted the company today by phone and they said i can either have the item sent or send my cheque back as ive waited so long, well ive asked for my cheque back so i can get the money back into my bank, well what do i di now as i also am getting a full refund from paypal ? Can i be cheeky and keep both, would ebay find out i got my cheque back ?

Why are paypal giving you money when you didnt pay by paypal?
Surely its nothing to do with paypal? Surely you're only protected by paypal if you use paypal??0 -
So does that mean i can not bother to pay for an item, but phone paypal and say i paid by cheque, but have no item, so please can they just give me the money? And they will do it?

No i cant imagine Paypal / Ebay refunding you if you had paid with a cheque! I think they wont refund you as i am sure the seller will let them know that the cheque is being returned to you as they will want their listing and final value fees back for the item you brought. The business on ebay said that they rtecieved the cheque which the bloke thought he did he got mixed up with me, the cheque arrived today and surley ebay can c this there side that the cheque arrived as he closed the dispute and putting this in the reason aprt. I think it's a new service ebay are trialling to help buyers that haven't received an item that they've paid for.
Ebay will find out as they will try and recoup the money from the seller who will inform them they have sent the cheque back. I would get back in touch with ebay and say that the seller is returning your money.:j30/7/10:j

Well - depends how honest a person you are doesn't it really. Ebay will attempt to obtain the money from the seller, they will advise them they didn't have the cheque and you didn't have the goods - ebay can then try and pursue for the money.
It's not being cheeky keeping the money - it's dishonest - and as you will be receiving money that isn't yours - then I would also say it's theft.0 -
