I'm sure. He has suffered with many different issues for years. After a long time I finally talked him into seeing someone about it. He always described his nightmares very well including who it was but he thought he was having some weird episode. His mother always told him it was in his head.

After his father died he left the truth in his will including the police reports. His mother wanted to glaze it over. She was 'ashamed' that he didn't stand up for himself (How was he meant to a 2 years old?!?).

After this everything started making sense and he with the correct help has started to get better. It makes me so mad to think this could have been dealt with sooner. But he is getting though it now and that is what's important.

Well maybe it was prolonged abuse in that case, but if it was something that happened once or twice I really don't see it imprinting on someone's memory at such a young age. A child of 2 years old? I really don't think would remmeber something in a one off situation.

Of course I could be wrong, I'm not a scientist in this field.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
  • It was once - I am also sure he just has a good memory. But seeing the effects first hand I would never risk it on my lil boy.

so if your lil boy was identified as being a victim what would you do, if he was acting normal, and you hadn't noticed a difference in his behaviour?

Sorry but I don't believe that people have that perfect memory from when they were two years old to remember what happened, and how many times, etc.

I'm not saying they don't remember anything, but that their memory is very clouded and certainly not perfect,,, my opinion of course

  • As I said before I wouldn't tell him directly but I would want to know myself. I would make sure that support was there if needed. If he never remembered then that would be the best thing in the world but at the time my husband showed nothing...it wasn't until he was older he got worse. I prob feel so strong about it because I know the worse half of the situation btu I would rather be prepared and ready.

I'm sorry but I'm with the judge, who doesn't think that any two year old will remember a few minutes from their life.

i guess it depends on the age of those who attended the nurseries, but I don't think young babies remember anything about abuse etc.

Edit - as the judge said, it's up to the parent if they want to know or not. not have it forced upon then, so you would know. Why would it bother you what other parents choose?

I know, I'm just giving my own, I'm not an innocent in these circumstances myself. Which is why I wanted to put my point across.
