Coach houses: cost effective detached house or pokey flat over some garages?

Could be colder. In a first floor flat you get some residual heat from below, possibly a lot more if the insulation is not good. With a garage underneath, you get nothing.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. Hope my thread helped. I must admit to still looking at some of these. There is one up for sale locally to me in a gated development for 124,950. No garden. You have one garage that belongs to the flat on one side and two garages that are leased on the other side. Personally if I had one I would like some garden. I think if I were to buy I would make sure it is not on a large estate but a small one.0

I need to rent somewhere soon when my sale goes through and am finding there are a number of Coach Houses around. I have never been in one and wondered if anyone could supply RM links to EA's that may have one for sale with a floor plan so I can get my head around how they are laid out. Two bedroomed ones.0

I've been looking at one on Rightmove that's £115K.
For what the monthly mortgage costs would be I could rent some amazing places. Pondering that idea.Happy chappy0 -
