Panasonic Digital TV lost BBC Channels - Please help!

I have a Panasonic flat screen 28inch digital TV with built in Freeview. In order to get the BBC channels (which arrived late) I retuned twice yesterday. They are still on the on-screen list, but haven't tuned in (I'm in the Granada area). I don't have BBC2, BBC3, BBC News, Parliament, Red Buttons, BBC children's channels, or any of the many BBC radio channels! The TV is great and was a bargain from Micro Direct, approx 6 years ago. It cost £300 and it worked perfectly before!
Please can anyone help?

Have a look and see if these channels have moved to the 800s channel numbers.0

Hi, thanks for your replies,
TEDDYRUKSPIN - I've retuned it twice - first because most of the BBC channels had stopped working, (presumably because the analogue signal had been switched off). But after the retune the BBC channels weren't listed in the on-screen tv guide.
A couple of hours later there was an on-screen notification that a new channel had been found. This resulted in the missing BBC channels appearing on the list, but they were not tuned in. So I retuned the TV again - but they are still not tuned in!
moonrakerz - As my tv has built in Freeview, the on-screen list is different and it doesn't have the 800 channel numbers. The missing BBC channels are listed as nos. 82 to 102.
I'm not happy to lose so many channels - especially as they're what I pay the licence fee for! I really miss BBC 24 hour news, BBC2 and BBC3 and radio.
Is there a way of solving this, without having to buy a new TV (which I can't afford)?0 -

If you haven't actually tried the 800s, please do. I have a Panasonic which has been re-tuned and there are 800 ch numbers there - albeit with no signal in my case as BBC1 etc are on the right channels.
I deliberately haven't re-tuned my (fairly elderly) Humax STB in the kitchen just to keep BBC1 and BBC News where they used to be !redmandarin wrote: »Is there a way of solving this, without having to buy a new TV (which I can't afford)?
At the very worst you will have to buy a STB - £20 ?0 -
Does the model number of your TV appear on this list?

OP, The analog signal has benn switched off in your area and now you can no longer receive BBC channels. Could you receive them via freeview before the switch over?
If not maybe your aerial needs looking at, have you another digital TV you can use?
Its also possible that the freeview tuner in your TV has been bricked by the recent freeview retune, as posted above, so you may need to buy a new STB.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Hi,
moonrakerz,
There are no 800 channels on my on-screen list. The list starts at 1 and goes up to 199. I can move the channels around. After re-tuning channels are listed randomly, but this is not much use because it takes ages to scroll down to the channel I want to view. So I have gathered my favourites and re-listed them at the top - and the missing BBC channels are currently at nos. 82 -102. Of the 199 channels listed, approx 100 only have a number, and they are empty slots (presumably there to receive any new channels that are released for Freeview).0 -
Hi penrhyn & Stompa,
I could receive all of freeview when I bought the TV.
Not happy about the bricking issue! The TV looks great from the front, but has a large back and is heavy (and I should be getting ready to go out at the moment - nowhere exciting lol!) so tomorrow when I've got more time, I'll turn the TV round and get the model number and post it then.
Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.0 -
Are you certain that you are using the digital tuner? That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Try unplugging it from the mains and then a retune, we 'lost' BBC 2 last night and it returned with a retune.:hello:0
