And would you like your name, address and e-mail sent out to thousands of people??!!
where did the OP mention compensation anyway? he said he thought offering £5 wasn't good enough, perhaps what he wanted was assurance that his identity was safe and that this would never happen again?
Whatever you think, this kind of error is unaceptable...
nice attempt at stirring though and discrediting the OP
It does clearly say in the email sent to him that they do apologise and that they have put in preventative measures to make sure it doesnt happen again.
As much as i do like to think the best in people, i think it is clear that he is wanting some financial contribution for his loss (whatever loss that may be!)
I agree its not nice to have details passed to other people, but has he actually been told that his personal details have been passed on?? All he was told is that there have been calls to report these sorts of emails.
As the only info that has been emailed to these people is details readily available online (name and address) i think that the OP should accept the apology and voucher and move on.0 -
Just to say the code will only work for me so if anyone else tries it wont work I am not bothered about compensation just about my details being passed on to others0

either that or someone used his code and he's too embarrassed to admit it :rotfl:Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.0 -
I am surprised that someone with Irisrose's experience on this forum, nearly 4000 posts, has deleted the text from the original post and destroyed the sense of the complete thread.
Agreed, but Google cache still has a copy!
Play.com gave my address to hundreds or maybe thousands
Play.com seem to have had a glitch I received 48 emails meant for other people saying that there orders had been dispatched as well as my own order. It gave their email address name and home address so other people I know have now got my details as I rang them and all they said was that they knew there was a problem and that they were sorting it out and my account with them was safe. I said that my details were not safe as they had sent people my order information with all my details on it I dont like the idea of strangers knowing my name where I live and my email address they seem to have little concern over that so I am really mad :mad:Gone ... or have I?0
