what were the circumstances causing the friends to urinate on the mattress?

if it is health/illness related and the friend or yourself knew about it then the insurer will not cover as the event was forseeable.

like a pregnant lady deciding on a home birth and trying to claim for the mess - sorry but that is forseeable.

as are young childrens bedwetting episodes.

however if it was a complete accident and out of character - eg: unforseeable then it should be covered.

as someone stated a pregnant ladies waters breaking 3 months early - covered as unexpected. on the due date not covered as expected.
