Morning all. Not posted on here for quite a while, nor have a read very often either. Half term seemed to go so quickly, then we were away in Blackpool last weekend (which was fab!).
I have an unexpected day off today, as DS was sick last night around 10.30pm, and still felt ill this morning. Its very odd, he was also sick on Tuesday night, just the once, and last night was just the once. Can't remember the last time he was sick, so no idea what is going on.
Anyway, we have snuggled on the sofa, and I have caught up with The Bill and Spooks! Have also been fielding calls, as due in court this afternoon for a case, and really don't want to have to take DS in with his plastic sick tub, although I will if I have to as don't want to get in trouble for not turning up.
MSD - I did read Tris was having an op, and has come through it but is still pretty poorly? You are in my thoughts.
No idea what else has been going on, so might use my extra time at home to do some catching up on here!0 -
just been browsing online at recipes , as I have all the family coming for a meal and I have seen this SPANISH CHICKEN AND POTATO STEW it looks delish thought i would share it
think I will do it with jacket spuds and do a chilli and rice as well , that should fill them up

NPM - I don't understand why you get a warning for sickness. why don't they look at the reasons you're off sick - if it was lots of little days here and there I can understand it but when you rack up lots of days with swine flu etc and have a sick note etc.
Curly - nowt wrong with second hand toys, my kids don't always have brand new

Afternoon all
I'm rather late posting today, as have been busy, have done the food shop this morning for the next week, and have meal planned too - went to MrT for a change and was pleasantly surprised that most of what I buy is the same price as MrA - thinking I may alternate between the 2 to get the best of both worlds! BM will be going on in a mo and will be making hob nobs to take away with us tomorrow. Still need to pack though - but only 1 night so not too much needed. Have to go back to work on Monday after 2 weeks leave - not really looking forward to that - but it pays the bills and I should be grateful to have a job I enjoy in this economic climate! Have really worked hard with the weight loss this last week and have managed to lose another 2lb so total lost now is 2 stone 2lb - go me! Just need to lose another 6lb before Xmas do-able if I keep my head in the zone!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone, keep safe and well, hugs to those that need them.

Hello all...I've got a day off work today so I've got chance to post

It's my birthday tomorrow (sadly a big birthday with a 4 a the start  ) and we're planning a bonfire and some fireworks with some friends coming over. Sadly it's absolutely lobbing it down with rain at the moment so it's going to be a bit soggy tomorrow...still we've got space inside!
Have a good day everyone x

Evening all
I've had a physically tough day at work, been digging up a garden for a school with my young people. I had to join in to encourage them! It was raining loads too. So for a girl who has had both a bad back and a cold this week, it's probably not the best thing to do! We finished digging at half1 as we were soaked, so I dropped them all off then went home to change and then back to work to do some paperwork. Finished half hour early at 4 though which was nice
I popped to Tesco on way home to treat myself to the new season of 24 on DVD, as I've got most of weekend free. I saw it in another Tesco in next town over for £30, but it was £33 in my local one  so I didn't get it today.
Dinner was stirfry made with all the leftover veg in my fridge plus some straight to wok noodles and a sauce.
I need to do a massive tidy and hoover by tomorrow lunchtime as my parents are coming over! I have been very lax this week due to being ill so need to get myself sorted. I did the kitchen last night so that's half the battle.
Have a good evening
