Whilst we all know the price of the OOTW is naff, i cant understand the logic of saying wait for the sale they will have loads left if they keep this up.
The way i see it, if the sale is 50% off, thats good but with the 342 being removed, you just arent going to save much and that is why i cant grasp why people go mad for the Boots boxing day sale.
Having said that, when you get to 75% off its better, but do you really get any of the good stuff left by then.

Hi Keith. I don't know if you have ever been to one of the larger stores when the 75% sale is on, but I can assure you that it isn't a question of having a load of ol' tat left.

They have loads of stock left, and I purchased a shed-load of lovely gifts for 2009 Birthday Pressies, in January, and quite a few toys and things for this Christmas, all for a fraction of the original price.

True, you may not get everything that you want, but if you're organised, and willing to be flexible, you can make some amazing savings. I make a list, with some alternatives, I stick to a budget, partly Real Money and partly points, and give myself, say, £20 leeway - just in case I see something really bargaineous!

And if you have to have something, then buy it now, and if it appears in the 50% sale, then buy it again, and take the first one back, with your receipt.

Then if it appears in the 75% sale, repeat the process with the half price item. Personally, I can't be faffing about with all this, but I look for things to give as pressies that I'd like to receive as a gift myself.

I have quite a few non-Bootsing friends, on whom I'd spend, say, £10 on a Christmas or Birthday present. If I get the stuff in the 75% sale, or do some canny buying on a Christmas Shopping evening, when you get the extra points, I can buy them something worth £20 for a fiver!;)

I'm sure if the Government employed some of us Bootsers to work out their costs, they wouldn't waste so much of our money!

Oh I know that. It's the Elle Gift Bag, but instead of it being half price, or £26, it's £47!

    Very true!
On boxing day it will only be £30 which is still a bit cheaper than it is just now but how do you know if there will even be meny left by then!
And at £30 in the sales you prob wont go buying 3 like you would on the 3 for 2!
The only things I managed to get in the 75% off last sale was kids bubble bath!!

Most people here had their orders for .com in their baskets ready for the off in the 75% sale. And got up early on the day to place the order. I also went in store the day/s beforehand to see what I wanted and where it was going to be - and arrived instore at 8.30am and got everything I wanted. Not kids bubble bath!! You want to get yourself a bit more prepared. :)

My friend has been keeping an eye on the No.7 set hoping it owuld be the OOTW as she wanted three herself for gifts and also has to do christmas shopping for her elderly aunt to give to her daughters in law so wanted six. Although p'd off she had to pay an exta £40 she still decided to get them.

Before she went I had to persuade her to "brass neck" it and put seven free gifts into her basket too as they will go through.

Although dubious she done as she was told and went to the checkout with all the sets. The SA looked at the pile and said "you can only get one free gifr".

She told her - my friend said I am entitled to this amount as the total spend that counts not that the total is over £22.

The girls replied "well we'll just check shall we but the till won't let you get them".

My friend said she was quaking in her boots (it had taken me ages to persuade her in the first place) but was delighted both that they all went through free but also at the look on the SA's face that she was wrong.

Best bit was my friend doesn't have an advantage card so she took mine, as well as my "double points" voucher. She even checked that machine for me and got another 450 points voucher so she got over £17.00 in points for me for telling her about the freebie.

and lost EVERYTHING from my basket when other people's orders went through but not mine as Boots website crashed under the pressure.
It wasn't a matter of being prepared, the site just could not cope.

If you want to be sure of a bargain, be outside the shop early on the day!

Snipped , I love the look on the SA's face lol:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:, but i do try to look innocent and usually comment oooh , thats good isnt it (like i didnt know it would work) its just that im in boots so regularly, if i started to gloat, they would all get a bit narked with me, but instead most the sas in my store wait for me to show em the bargains lol..
