New to Oil Central Heating- advice needed!!
Comments

Hi, no room thermostat. Our neighbours recently got 500 litres of oil and it lasted them through to Feb time and they do exactly the same as us with regard to times etc. I guess it just depends on how much is used and how much is being heated.
Thanks for all the replies! x:T0 -
Wow 1000l until FEB- I am envious. That would probably last us 10-12 weeks. We have heating on for 4 hours in total a day, but to be honest I would love to put it on for longer as it does get chilly! We live in a 4 bed detached, admittedly it is an old house. But we do have hot water bottles, bed socks and plenty of jumpers! x
All depends on what boiler you use some are more economical than others and also dependant on the house.
Our house is sandstone built in 1800's .(11 rooms including bathrooms etc)..it gets cold after about 2-3 hours after heating goes off.
We realy should install a roomstat to keep the house at an even temp..trouble is will take me about 6 hours to figure the wiring out lol
i still light my wood burner in the winter so our main living room is roasting.0
