  • Thanks for the comments.

I have now bought the ring based on that design with emerald cut.

    however a change in diamond:

Emerald Cut Diamond Solitaire 1.03ct, F Colour, VVS2, Very Good Cut, Very Good Polish.

    total cost £3,550.

Pretty good deal, it tok some negotiation.

Looking at some of the sites fopr diamonds advise by you guys, you will probs see this is a good deal, for the total ring.

    Once again Thanks.

I plan on popping the question on Xmas Day

  • One more thing, we both have had our pennies worth of picking the ring and I know 110% its what my other half wants.

    :-)
  • Looks amazing, and with a diamond that shape (not to mention that large), the wedding band should be able to tuck snugly in underneath it!

    Hi,

This ring is gorge! My jaw did drop a bit when I saw it, it's lovely. The only thing i'd say that from the pic (and i'm no expert on diamonds!) is that because of the cut of the diamond it may not be one of those diamonds that really sparkles and catches your eye....I mean it would catch our eye obv, but just not in a sparkly way! It depends on what your OH prefers, but I chose mine last week and went for one that is lovely and sparkly!

I think you've got a good deal - and THIS is the most important thing:
One more thing, we both have had our pennies worth of picking the ring and I know 110% its what my other half wants.
    :-)

Best wishes for the future to you both, I'm assuming there's no chance of her turning you down.

  • I love the diamond but hate the shoulder gems. It gives it a 'cheaper' look with those shoulders and if I were given that ring I would be forever thinking "Oh he nearly got it so right but not quite, dammit"

But as the OP's fiancee-to-be was involved in choosing the design, she'll surely think 'WE 100% got it right'.
One more thing, we both have had our pennies worth of picking the ring and I know 110% its what my other half wants.

As I said on the other thread that the OP started, the only thing that confuses me is why the OP posted (twice) asking members what they thought about the design and diamond spec if he and the girlfriend had decided this was the ring they wanted anyway

Hope you love your ring too. ;)
  • That is a stunning ring. You clearly have excellent taste. It is very classic and very elegant.
