No I haven't. We do have honey suckle in the garden...I've never noticed any reaction, but maybe once dried?

I'd never heard they reacted to either tbh :o

IIRC it's only one species of honeysuckle. They have both honeysuckle and valerian toys on Purrs and eBay.

My cat is scared of bags!!!! Honestly, if you want him to get 'lost for a bit', just crunch a bag and he shoots away like a bullet!

Laser pen doesn't work. He will follow the hand that the pen is in, not the red light!!!
Cardboard boxes are of no interest to him.
He will only be interested in your feet under duet if you are trying to sleep. You don't even need to move them - he will attack anyway!
Live spiders and flies - if he can be bothered.

    I have a weird cat...

If he likes spiders and flies try the Dragonfly toy, it looks and sounds realistic and being on a wire you can easily twitch it to get insect-like movements. The first time Noah came onto my bed he was pouncing on the pattern on the duvet as it has ribbon and coloured circles of fabric appliqued on!!

  • The world's greatest cat toy, as extensively tested on tamed ex-farm cats, is....
a piece of raw meat tied to a bit of string. :D
It's exciting, it moves and best of all they can eat it! Can be a bit messy, but it's very mse.
Also feathers on bits of string.
If you're dead set on paying actual money for a cat toy the best one I've bought was a squeaky electronic mouse. It had a sensor in it and made an electronic-sounding beep/squeak whenever it was jolted (or savagely attacked by a paw).

It has to be Da Bird for our cat - he won't play with much else really although he likes playing with the straps on my rucksack and my smelly trainers! (I think it's the laces lol)

For my cat its the following:

Laser pen - if she can be bothered to chase it, usually she waits for it to come to her!
Cardboard boxes - weve had to start throwing out boxes before she can claim them, before we have a flat full!
Empty crisp bags made into a ball - these she loves
Off cuts off fake fur material
A cat nip stuffed mouse - she carries it about and sleeps with it
But her absolute favourite is -anything she shouldnt have! Ive lost count of the numbe of pens, mascaras, lip balms etc which she has poked under furniture never to be seen again!

I've tried my cat out with dog tornado.

he shows a bit of interest in it, realises it may take a bit of effort and the kinda walks away. (the dog figured it out lickitysplit and likes it).

the only problem is that i then either have to empty the whole thing out, or give all the cat food to the dog - neither of which is the best option!

he also has a treat ball, which again, same rules and dilemas applies. I have found that he shows more interest in in those toys when i mix dry food in with a few of his (or the dogs!) treats.

with his other toys, he can be a bit picky. sometimes he likes da bird (but the dog ADORES and flips out when it is out), sometimes he likes the laser pen (again, the dog goes nuts over it), and sometimes he will play with normal 'stuffed' toys if they have been kept in a container full of catnip or, in his treat container. although again, i think the dog prefers the toys more than him!

he likes to go in and out of a tunnel they used to sell at ikea, and sometimes he will jump at the dog while she is walking past, and loves cardboard boxes and bags, and anything that is new to the house, or a place where he shouldnt sit (including the dish dryer!)

he also really likes shoe laces, string, and pingpong balls.

im interested in the track ball/catsensit - maybe that can be his christmas gift!

but, he tends to only play if the dog is on a walk, which can make playtime a bit difficult as usually I am the only one home!

Bethie you are a star, been wanting a tunnel for Noah and just looked on the IKEA website - small cat tunnel under a fiver, or large child tunnel for £19! :money:

Have you tried honeysuckle or valerian with your cats? Noah likes catnip and honeysuckle; I haven't tried valerian yet.

oh you have to try the valerian knotties or body cushions!! All my cats love this and sometimes fight over it lol They dont go mad for normal catnip, only valerian but it really stinks!
