Thanks Ged- I think I will part with the extra £10 and get the same as you
  • I bought this one a few weeks ago for £14.48, and it's been great!

We've done some packet mixes, some normal white loaves, some brown and some granary with great results each time. A basic, white 1.5lb loaf takes 3hours, a 2lb white loaf takes 3hrs 10 mins (I think) and the brown bread settings seem to take 4hours - again, with good results.

We hadn't had a breadmaker before, but we've not been dissapointed with this one!

I bought that one too! I have to say Im delighted with it - Ive made a packet one with great results, Ive made a mashed potato one (as per the recipe booklet that comes along with it) turned out great and I made a banana loaf with an existing recipe I have (I had to bake it for an hour longer than the sweet programme) and its delicious! Cant recommend it enough. You can even make jam in them - cant wait to try that either!

Hiya, i've got this one too been quite successfull however the edges (not top) can be a bit to crusty! I tried the delay setting last night and i think the insructions were wrong is not the number of hours you want it to start in its the number of hours you want it to be ready in, cos my wholemeal loaf was sunken and damp prob been sat there for 4 hours LOL.

Could you PM me the banana loaf recipe?

    Thanks

Are you making sure to set the 'colour' setting to 'L' each time? That makes a nice, soft 'light' crust.

i have the same BM and started using it yesterday. my wholemeal loaf sank but OH kept opening lid so that could have caused the sinking. however when i cut the loaf open this morning the bread was very nicely cooked (i'd added pumpkin seeds) and good texture. the seagulls enjoyed the first one! white and heavy on quick setting so i wont do that again.
gonna be busy next few days but hope to have a go at a sourdough rye loaf later in the week.

I'm beginning to think mine is faulty - anyone else having timer problems?

Set mine for 6 hours at 10pm and it just started up a few minutes ago. This is the third time this has happened. Rather annoying as it makes good 1.5lb loaves (though not 2lb!) and was reliable until now.

The timer function is not explained correctly in the book! the time you set isthe tmeyou want the loaf to be done not when you want it to start!

Has anyone made a cake in this breadmaker yet, i'm confused cos the receipe says 5-6 eggs sounds like a huge cake to me!!

    Thanks
