Bargain new car tyres

Need new car tyres? Can be the same for one tyre as an annual service so this is worth a try. Dealer who is doing the service n MOT quotes £242 all in for 2 new tyres. For THE SAME TYRES (2 of) Kwik Fit are £150 inc VAT and fitting :Tbut ONLY if you buy and pay online and book a slot to have them fitted. Turn up on spec to them or print off a quote and go in with it and you pay around £200. Other big guys like National and Budget also around the £200 mark. KF will check your tread depth for free so its worth making 2 trips if your nearest KF isnt too far - first to check how many, if any, new tyres you need, then go home and order, pay and book online and go back a second time to get them fitted. I need 3 tyres so saving between £120 and £140 which pays for the service :p If you are due an MOT do this over a week before the MOT so you can have any MOT fail tyres replaced beforehand.

  • When I needed new tyres earlier this year Tyre-shopper beat all the other prices including KwikFit. By all means get your tread depth tested at KF, but do shop around for tyres.

Is it true that Kwick Fit were prosecuted for selling old tyres? I heard they were blowing out on the motorway, any truth in the rumour?

  • Dunno about that Fortyfoot. I do remember they were big on selling retreads a while back, could be them blowing out at high speeds?

If you are a member of Costco they do Michelin tyres pretty cheap. Definitely shop around.

yeah i used tyre shopper if u go to a national tyre services dont buy the tracing off tyre shopper as its £25 for 2 wheel trackin, wait pay national tyres £25 for 4 wheel tracking xx
    SIMPLES!
  • Wouldn't touch quickfit or national with a barge pole. Small independants always cheaper. but better still. etyres and black circle all the way, they can easily be 50% cheaper than the high street
