  • Good Afternoon everyone,

Hugs to everyone who's in need today, there seems to be plenty of sadness and worry around OS this weather.

I have fallen spectacularly off the OS bandwagon. Haven't baked, cooked or done much housew*rk for several [STRIKE]thousand[/STRIKE] days or at least that's what it seems like. :o Getting back on track tonight, will be baking some gingerbread muffins for Guy Fawkes and some biscuits for the tin. OH is off to start his new job on Saturday, which had been delayed by a few weeks, so will get his washing, etc. sorted tomorrow.

Heating has been on for fifteen minutes today. Is it anal of me to use the kitchen timer and then turn the thermostat down to zero again after 15mins.? Otherwise you just get lazy about it don't you? Mind you, the house is quite toasty and well insulated, so I feel that after fifteen minutes there's enough heat in the radiators to keep me going.

Give your near and dear an extra hug today.

  • Evening all

I have spent the day in Cardiff with of the young people I work with at the opening of a new Starbucks. They got to see what it was like to work in a coffee shop, give out free samples and served customers. Whereas I got to wander round the new shopping centre :) it's very nice up there now.

Feeling loads better, cold has moved to my chest but I'm no longer fuzzy headed! Also managed to sleep all night too. It's very cold here tonight.

Dinner will be mash, quorn sausages, peas and onion gravy - mmmmm!

Re the poor soldiers in Afghanistan, it's a terrible thing. My ex boyfriend (who I'm still very close to) is out there serving at moment and I hold my breath every time a death is announced until I know it's not him. I also work quite closely with a regiment through work, and we visited them earlier in year before they went out there, since then 8 have died :(

Hope you all have a fab bonfire night. I'm going to watch the fireworks over the town from my sofa, I have a big window!

Had a lovely evening of fireworks with the kids. Organised events are always too busy, start too late and nothing more than fun fairs really. Anyway second year running we've bought some fireworks from Mr S and set them off in the back garden. DS and DD (who watched from indoors due to dampness and her chesty cough) loved it. Lots of excited squeals and pointing. think DS was disappointed there were no really loud rockets (I deliberately bought the quietest fireworks possible!). Might have to pick him some more up the weekend. Fortunately no dogs in the immediate vicinity so haven't stressed out any doggies :)
Very non OS had chips from the chippy for tea :o Still don't do it every week so that's my excuse LOL!

Happy Birthday Betheebee hope you have had a good day.

I think an early night for me - am shattered.
    Have a pleasant evening.

Our town seems to be the exception to this. It always starts promptly, no stalls or rides, just really great fireworks, lovely atmosphere and entrance by small donation only. :D
It was fabulous and luckily our dog isn't bothered by the bangs.
Just back home and polishing off some hot chocolate.

Spent the early part of the day at the office and this afternoon the girls went to their dance class while I had coffee with a friend.
Tea was beef stew with cannelini beans and bread and butter. :D And now we are all stuffed with toffee. :o

Happy Birthday Bethebee. Hope you had a great day. x

    Evening everyone

Made Bordeaux yesterday but 13 hour drive by DH - he hates being a passenger.
Today just north or Arras. Just been out for a lovely meal courtesy of RestauMarche. Stuff and full of wine too. Just going to crash ready for the next leg tomorrow.
    Hope everyone is OK
