    Hi Noh and All

I already have Halifax Reward current a/c with Debit Card.
Do you think I could still stand a change if I apply for Halifax EasyCash.

If no, I have read that RBS EasyCash also offer Visa Electron.
Are they going to ask why do you want to apply for EasyCash if you qualify to normal account ?. I try to avoid the answer, I want to get Visa Electron to beat the Budget Airlines fee, as they might reject my application.
What do you think the best answer fro this question ?

Why not ask Halifax if you can have an Electron card in addition to your debit card for use on budget airlines?

After all they get interest on your money kept in the account, and at worst can only say no.

Failing that, you could say to Halifax or RBS you want the Electron card for small or online purchases for more security. IE As overdraft and cheques are not allowed. If card is compromised or lost, and only a modest balance is kept on the card.

Then a large sum can not be taken from the account!

When required top ups or transfers to Halifax Easycash are near to immediate, or at least are from Co-Op account.

I have 3 Reward accounts and a current account with Halifax.
I applied for the Easycash account online after logging in to online banking.
No questions asked about why account was needed.
Being an existing customer, not needing ID verification, the account was available very quickly.

    Dear noh

Thank you for your explanation about EasyCash. I am going to apply online to avoid verbal scrutiny.

Lucky you you get £15 a month for free from Halifax reward. :)
When I want to open my second reward, it is already too late as they do not allow people to have more than 1 Reward A/C anymore.

The Co-Op are no longer issuing Electron cards.

Mine expires at end of the month, and wont be replaced.
And I have been with them for many years.

Co-Op's loss and Halifax Easycash's gain!

i tried using it also on another website and says it isnt a electron but a visa debit

Check this thread.. I made an official complaint and Cooperative/Smile have agreed to refund the fees in relation to my Visa Electron Card (£18), but I've also fees of £20 with Aer Lingus; It's not currently possible to use a Smile Visa Electron Card (4508) with Aer Lingus. Had to use another Visa Debit Card (4988) which incurred fees.

See this thread, which shows all the formal complaints sent to Cooperative / Smile regarding the Visa Electron Card bin type issue. (how the card is recognised by retailers)

    Dear all

I have got Halifax EasyCash with electron debit card. Mu main intention is to use it to beat the Budget Airlines Fee.

If I leave the balance of £1.00 remain in this A/C and I just transfer money into this account when I need it to pay the flight ...

Is there any problem with this ? I mean the things like:
    - Stung by admin fee, underfunding fee, etc.
    - The risk of a/c is beeing close ?

    Thank you for your time

adindas, I've had a Halifax Easycash for a couple of years now (for flights) and it normally only has a few pence in it, sometimes zero. No problems at all.
