i'm not sure fraud is welcome on these here message boards. it tends to be frowned uponhelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
I know am such a fool for falling for what now appears to be a common scam...
Whilst searching for dentists on internet, I came across an article about 'Dazzle smile’ whitening stick which was offering a free sample of their product and to pay only £1.99 for shipping, or so I was led to believe… I purchased the 'free' sample via by bank card. I received this sample a couple of days ago and have not opened the packaging. I have now been sent a further 2 more samples- one the same as before and one from a company called ‘Pure white’.
I was informed by my bank today that an unauthorised payment has been charged to my account. I have since had my card cancelled as I was advised to do so by my bank that were familiar with company as further payments have been attempted.
It seems, after some investigation on the internet, that the company in question operates under many guises…Pristine Health was one of them (this is what was stated on my bank records). ‘Pristine health’ have been attempting to charge me various sums of money that I was unaware of. The company has actually managed to charge me £50- which came to light today.
I have had my bank card cancelled. My bank was actually aware of this company- and my advisor said "oh, I've heard of this company before" and immediately advised me to cancel my card!
Looking at other peoples’ experiences of the same and similar dealings with this company it appears I will have a battle to claw back my money. My bank is sending me a dispute letter to send to the company and that’s all they can do to help. I am willing to go the distance if I’m in with a good chance of getting my money back. Should I spend hours/days/weeks pursuing this company (as many others have) and get no where? Or should I admit defeat from the outset and see this as a lesson which has cost me £50?
Anyone else been through same/similiar experience with this company?0 -
Yes, I too have been taken in by these rip off merchants to the tune of £100 plus for two small tooth whitening pens! Please, please, please read the small print when ordering trial offers over the internet. Thank goodness I cancelled my credit card before they were able to filch any more of my hard earned cash. These con artists should be stopped, but it is hard to see how when they appear to be acting within the law. I don't fancy your chances of getting any money back from them.0

Hi ..I unfortunately have also been scammed in this manner. The number given above by Vikkidavies 0808 1201297 is a UK Number and I managed to talk to the two ladies[ who are Americans by the way ] but if you are reasonable on the phone and ask to cancel they are ok . She gave me a cancellation code and put me on to a customer services person [ she said I will receive a refund for the second one within 4-5 working days as I only received the first tiny tube ] and I have had 2 debits on my account already
I also cancelled this with my bank as well of course.
I did n't expect and answer even so its worth trying ..if not then I will call again.
NB You do have to cancel with them or they will try and take money each month as she said that on the phone , but they will not enter into any conversation so don't bother moaning0 -

Hi there. I noticed today whilst going through my bank statements that I had been charged £153 for a teeth whitening kit.
Like so many others I saw a 'trial' offer online for about $8 inc P&P and perhaps rather gullibly thought I would give it a go, but also like so many others I didn't read the T&Cs fully. I had initially recieved the first sample and though that was that, but when a second sample came through a few weeks later I simply assumed it was an error on the postage front.
What I didn't realise was that after my first initial payment of £8 for the trial sample, I would then automatically be charged another payment in a couple of weeks for a 3 month subscription being sent from the USA! So not only do you get charged the cost of the item but also the International handling fee as well. I only noticed this in my account today as it nearly tipped me over my Overdraft limit.
I could not even find any emails sent to me from 'Everbrite Smiles' and it was then alarm bells started to ring and I felt like kicking myself. I went to their website and clicked the Contact Us link to which you get an address in the UK up north and also an American address. I googled the UK address trading name H5-UK Ltd and immediately found a link indicating card fraud or scamming for Everbrite smiles, also trading as Premier Whitening
I phoned Lloyds Bank immediately and he knew exactly what it was regarding before I had explained things in great detail. He said that technically it isn't 'fraud' as such but its still wrongful trading as they do not clearly state the future payments in their initial offer as its buried so far in the small print. He also said as they trade by different names it is also misleading. Plus he said that their reasoning for the charge is that they say if you are not happy with the trial, you need to send it back to them in order to stop the further 3 month subscription, but on the complaint I found, the man stated that he'd done that but they charged him anyway, so its a complete con.
I had paid by my debit card so Lloyds have filed a dispute claim against this company, refunded me my £153, cancelled my debit card and issued me a new one (so they cannot charge me again).
And after all that I haven't even used the kit yet!! It had better work after all this pullava!!
I have learned my lesson! But beware! Contact your bank immediately if you see any unexpected payments.
Hope this is useful info

The Free Trial scams are not legal in the UK (Europe). Under the E-Commerce Regulations the consumer must be told the price of what he is purchasing and the terms, they must agree the price and receive confirmation of the purchase. Therefore under the E-Commerce Regulations the contract was never completed.
The website failed to meet the necessary requirements under the E-Commerce Regulations - because they did not provide clear indication of the price and did not provide confirmation during the online transaction.
Write an email to the website and say:
"This is to inform you that I'm disputing this charge. You failed to meet the requirements under the E-Commerce Regulations and therefore a contract was not made. You have debit my credit card without authorisation. You are not authorised to make any further transactions on this credit card".
Then contact your credit card company and explain that this was unauthorised transaction because it did not meat the E-Commerce Regulations requirements and a contact was never completed and therefore it is a fraudulent transaction. That you do not authorise any other transaction to be taken from this company.
We would also recommend that you cancel the credit card and have a new one issues because there is a high risk that this scammer will use or sell your details in the future.
Follow-up your conversation with your credit card company in writing outline what you requested and what was agreed by them.
Also, you should be aware that the email you used could be targeted with other scams. E-Victims.Org0 -

Ha! what rubbish.
I'm sorry but i can clearly see their T&C's and can clearly see what they would charge me and when. Making it quite legal. Also calling them (you refer to them as a singular? i.e. "this scammer") scammers could be deemed libel as they seem to operate as a legitimate company.
Stop giving incorrect drivel.
On another note, i do not agree morally how this company operate as i have stated before, and its nice to see banks helping out but people really need to learn.
Edit: text in picture should read "even though chrome does....."Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
