Pristine Health/ Dazzles smile scam

I know am such a fool for falling for what now appears to be a common scam...
Whilst searching for dentists on internet, I came across an article about 'Dazzle smile’ whitening stick which was offering a free sample of their product and to pay only £1.99 for shipping, or so I was led to believe… I purchased the 'free' sample via by bank card. I received this sample a couple of days ago and have not opened the packaging. I have now been sent a further 2 more samples- one the same as before and one from a company called ‘Pure white’.
I was informed by my bank today that an unauthorised payment has been charged to my account. I have since had my card cancelled as I was advised to do so by my bank that were familiar with company as further payments have been attempted.
It seems, after some investigation on the internet, that the company in question operates under many guises…Pristine Health was one of them (this is what was stated on my bank records). ‘Pristine health’ have been attempting to charge me various sums of money that I was unaware of. The company has actually managed to charge me £50- which came to light today.
I have had my bank card cancelled. My bank was actually aware of this company- and my advisor said "oh, I've heard of this company before" and immediately advised me to cancel my card!
Looking at other peoples’ experiences of the same and similar dealings with this company it appears I will have a battle to claw back my money. My bank is sending me a dispute letter to send to the company and that’s all they can do to help. I am willing to go the distance if I’m in with a good chance of getting my money back. Should I spend hours/days/weeks pursuing this company (as many others have) and get no where? Or should I admit defeat from the outset and see this as a lesson which has cost me £50?
Anyone else been through same/similiar experience with this company?

Thread has been started on another board regarding this, You have not read thru the terms and conditions and been caught out like so many other unfortunate people.
You need to contact the merchant to cancel your subscription with them. You said your bank im assuming credit card? If its bank account ignore the next part as I have no idea what you would do from a current account.
If its your credit card then they will not be able to assist with payments prior to your cancellation date. which means from what you wrote you got £50 to take on the chin:(. Luckily they stopped your card that "should" stop further payments as these guys dont process payments as a CPA, merely key entered. So blocking account does work with them.
you got basically 2 chargebacks that can be worked with these payments.
Either- cancelled recurring payment.( you have cancelled on say 1st of october and the merchant billed you after this date)
Goods not received- they have billed you for goods and you have not recieved the package for it.....
Thats basically it. I know people are getting ripped off by these guys and trading standards are on the case aswell but this scenario always comes around. It was acai berrys last month, was Wuyi tea the month before, you cant stop people signing up for this crap unfortunatly.
All the best I hope you can get some funds back from these guys. From a lot of info I have recieved if you do email them they are sometimes ok with aplying refunds and do action them. I think they are getting away with so much that it doesnt matter that they give some cash back
Good luck0 -
This must be stopped. Dazzle Smile are nothing but thieves and con merchants.
They trick you when you order their 'low price' sample and charge you a)excessive postage and b)on going amounts that you supposedly signed up to and agreed.
They also trick you into believing you are getting a one time deal and get you to leave a box ticked. You think that this is for getting the sample at a real good price but infact, by not unchecking the box you automatically agree to taking on another service or product, like the World Club Fitness program. Because you were tricked to not unchecking the box they will now say that you agreed to pay another amount, in my case $26 per month.
Then, when they send you the sample they charge you the postage seperately, being a small amount. This shows on your statement and you think that it's not so bad BUT what you don't know is that's just the postage. A week or so later you realise that they then debit you a much larger figure, say $80. Then, by the time you've realised it's gone past the 30 day trial and they refuse to credit you back the money even if you do send it back.
Whilst you're trying to get the credit from them they then debit you again a similar amount and you would not have even received the next item. When querying the next payment and no product they say 'Oh don't worry, it will be with you any day', 'If you're not happy with the products just send them back and once we've received them we will credit your account'. That is another lie. I sent them back, by recorded delivery and they still do not want to credit my account.
Then you find out you're being charged for the 'unchecked' box service, mine being some fictitious 'World Club Fitness Program', for which you have absolutely no knowledge and in my case never received any product, service, link to an on-line magazine or otherwise.
After kicking up a stink they promised to cancel the account with them and not debit any more from your credit card. You put down the phone and hope that all will be credited and nothing more debited. WRONG. A few days later you find that not only have they debited your credit card a 4th or 5th time using various pseudo names, they have also passed your details onto another 'affilliated' company who has debited your account for similar amounts.
When phoning this new company I am told that I must have ordered from both companies....for similar products?!? Do they really think you're that stupid. Well, the truth is they do....and unfortunately we are...because we were stupid enough to believe that we were dealing with an respectable, honest and reputable company.
The truth is they are not. They are nothing but cheapscates and rogues, acting deliberately to con people out of their hard earned money. And by using the internet to sell their very unworthy products, they play their tricks and gain your money by nothing short of fraudulent practices.
For any of you who have done what I did, do yourself a favour. report your credit cards lost or stolen and gain new ones with completely different numbers. Then report this company to your bank, credit card company, the police, a wonderful web site like this and anyone else you feel might help you, us to stop companies like this from using their immoral, fraudulent practices.
Oh, one more thing you can do to get your own back is to regularly phone their toll free number, say 10 or 20 times a day when you're sitting around enjoying a coffee or a glass of wine. It might be toll free to us, the caller but they still have to pay for those calls. If they have to pay a cent per call from one person, that's not a lot. If we can get a couple of million to call them 20 times a day we might make a dent in their ill gained proffits.
If any of you have any other ideas as to how we can get our own back on this/these companies, lets get together, share the ideas and DO IT!

I have just managed to get back half of the £110 they have taken out of my bank account.
I feel like such a fool for falling for such a scam.
All i now have to do is not accept the second delivery of dazzle white, the man on the phone in America (which must have cost me a fortune as it was on my mobile) stated i can either not sign for the delivery when it comes and it will go back to them then refund will be 1-2 months or i can accept delivery and post it back that day with a special code number on it and he has given me a U.K address for this and refund will be 5-10 days!
But what i noticed is while i was on the phone to them the first woman i spoke to stated what had come out of my bank accout and what i have paid for is the first and second installment of treatment.....................i have therefore not recieved a trial of the product.
If this is true i will be ringing them back.
this is their phone number, 0-808-120-1987, loose the first 0 if calling off a mobile, open 5am till 8pm the people i spoke to were really nice they sounded fed up themselves and were speaking as though they had been through it a hundred times before, they didnt even ask why i wanted to return the product.
Dont try emailing as all the addresses i could find kept bouncing back to me.
I was ready for mentioning fraud, scam, trading standards etc etc but didnt need to really, i know i havent got my full ammount back but at the moment something is better than nothing.
As for my credit card i didnt have to cancel it i rang my bank the day i noticed these payments had come out they put me on to someone from the fraud squad, who said he had had hundreds of complaints about the same thing and that he would get intouch with them that day to cancel my bank details with them, and if they took anything else out in the meantime my bank said they would refund me!!
I canceled my memership with dazzle white through their website, live chat this is the website. premium white pro without the spaces .com google it
i hope this helps.0 -
Hi eveyone, just to let you know I have returned their sample by recorded delivery and they have it. But they have taken more money from my account under a different name pritinehlth after my bank Lloyds TSB promised me that they had but a block on my account for overseas payments going out on the 16th. Who can you trust. I think the Ombudsman should be brought in to deal wih the banks as they are still payng out the money, I am heartely sick and cannot sleep. Any ideas anyone0

I too have been caught by these people. If anyone needs any return addresses search this site for teeth whitening as I have put all the information I have been able to find about them on there. Hope this helps as it took me days to get anywhere and I am still trying to sort it all out. Hopefully I wont hear anymore from them.0

Well.. I guess I'm joining the club of the scammees.. I got stuck for 88.50 for one tube of Dazzle White. Never saw the 4.95 S & H charge it was supposed to be originally. Also got hit for the 24.13 from World Fitness. I was sent a second pen and that is what alerted me to this problem. I called them, got the cancelation number, packaged it up, sent it back with that number on the insured package,, so waiting to see if they credit me back my other 88.50. If not..I will bring my postage reciept to my bank and put in a complaint.
I canceled my credit card immediately and my bank is sending me a new one with the promise that no more charges can occur on my old one. That is the best thing to do.
I also feel I learned a costly lesson. READ, READ, READ EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU BUY. Lots of wolves out there.0 -
What a collection of suckers.
All unable to read, all too stupid to understand its not a scam.
Morally? yes its iffy
Illegal? no its a binding contract
Live with your mistakes and LEARN. That is worth far more than whatever you could hope to claw back from them in terms of finance.
I don't agree with their tactics for one second, but neither do i sympathise with your inabilities to read terms and conditions.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
Wait until your first shipment arrives then phone dazzle white and tell them you've received the package but that it cxontained an empty box. Ask for a refuned of all monies taken. It worked for me. If they dont refund everything tell ur cc company to issue chargebacks on the grounds that goods have never been recd. Lie to them!!!!0
