Hi,

I recently bought a high ticket training program (£600) for a UK website that offered a Money back Guarantee.

I have sent 3 - emails to them and got no reply.

Neither, go directly to the "Stand here if you were silly enough to believe a website offering a Money back Guarantee" corner...l:D

Seriously though.... do a chargeback with your cc or dc [within 120 days].

If time barred from a chargeback do a section 75 claim on your cc

[you did pay with a cc, right?? -If you didn't, get yourself into the "I didn't use a cc to buy online so have very little chance of getting my money back' corner]:D
  • No I was working in Greece and payed by western union, here is the wording...
    "My CrazyKeep The Kit Guarantee"
I'm not satisfied unless you are more than satisfied. So here's my "No Small Print" guarantee. Join today with total confidence...get the materials home, use them, test them inside YOUR business. Show up for your Persuasion Enhancement session - the 4 Q&A's and exploit me for every nugget of advice you can get. If after 30 days you don't feel that the information you've learned - or the talent you've developed has been worth it - then let me know and I'll give you your money back, no questions asked (we'll still be friends!) - If this programme doesn't deliver everything I've promised, or if you're unhappy with it for any reason, KEEP IT! and I'll send you a full and prompt refund.
I have no problem making this iron-clad guarantee because I've personally benefitted from these techniques - and so have my clients - so I know they work. Fair enough?

No I was working in Greece and payed by western union...

    Quack, quack, oops.

    Game over.

Your money is gone, disparu, adios, arrivaderci [sic], bye bye.

You paid by Westerrn Union - it's like putting cash in an envelope and posting it to some mugu in Nigeria; you will never see it again [imo].

Western Union is ONLY for sending money to people you actually KNOW and TRUST!!

Unless the person is UK based, and you have their address and they have assets that a court could seize, you are highly, highly, highly, highly, highly, highly unlikely to see one single penny of your money again.

    Sorry to be so pessimistic.

Remember ONLY buy online if you can use a CC to pay; No CC, No Buy.

W/Union, WorldPay, PayPal, Nochex etc are all 'intermediaries' and if you use them your cc/dc co will most likely refuse to either chargeback or section 75...so be vvvvvvvvv careful.
  • Yes, its a UK company with an adress.

I'm with BFG on this one!

Western Union is the choice of scammers, and only to ever be used when sending money to someone you know very well.

I'm afraid you've been well and truely scammed, with very little chance (more likely no chance) of ever seeing the money again.

All you can do is notify the police where you were in Greece and alert them to the scam.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Look like they worked their trick of persuasion on you to part with £600. Good luck ever seeing that again.

    I assume it's this site http://www.jameslavers.com/
  • So basically there is no law that enforces money back Guarantees ?
  • yes its him

Yes, its a UK company with an adress.

Is it a limited company or a blokie trading from his nan's spare bedroom??

Have they a history of ccjs against them - and unpaid??

Is the address legit, do they have assets/money that you could get the court to seize if you went to court and won and they refused to pay.

If so, crack on...it'll cost you about £60 to file the court papers and start the process [which you get back if you win and if they pay up].

Note: you should never sue a 'man of straw' ie there's no point getting a judgement against someone [or a company] who 'can't' pay ie has no assets. Unless they are a houseowner, it's very difficult to get money from anyone who doens't want to give it to you - even if you win in court and even if you KNOW they have money, it's very easy for them to avoid paying anything back.

Sorry, but my feeling from your posts is that the money is gone, never to be seen again, etc......

    Yes there is [kinda].

Trading stds might have been interested....if it was Tesco or another big high street name with a real UK presence that could be nailed down....and note that it's only a MIGHT!!

But the web is the wild west.

The website doesn't explain who owns jameslaver.com

Has a uk addy - chances of that being legit - at best a mail handling house [MBE, etc]??

Chances that the bloke's real name is jameslaver.....lol,lol.

tele no - chances of it working????

No way of tracking him down, no name, no legal entity, no address, .....................no chance of a refund.

Sure, you can have a look at who owns the domain, etc....but you're wasting your breath.

As I said, it's like putting £600 in an envelope and posting it to a Mr Wong living in a massive itinerant doss house in the middle of Beijing, and then asking 6 months later "He promised to send me the cash back if I asked him. But he won't, what can I do?"

    End of thread.
