  • ((((hugs)))) for Cranky&George, Snoozer and Diva (&Tris)

I have full blown cold :( so feeling very sorry for myself. Went to work this morning, despite having a bad night's sleep. My young people were a handful, and I was not in the best mood to be patient, but I struggled through til 2pm then sent them home and left work early. Went straight to bed when I got in, had a little nap. Feel slightly less woozy in the head but still so bunged up. I've got cold&flu tablets and vitamin C, plus I'm drinking loads of water. Finger's crossed I'm better for tomorrow as I have a really busy day in work and no-one can easily cover for me :(

I feel bad moaning when there a people out there with much worse than a cold, but I'm all alone here and just need to say it!

OS wise, BM and DW was on overnight. Didn't get up in time to put WM on before work so whacked it on before I collapsed in bed earlier and have just put it to dry on airer.

I'm absolutly starving (which I can only see to be a good sign!) despite just eating 2 jacket spuds with a HM chilli tomatoey topping less than half hour ago!! I want more food so will see what I have that's easy to cook.

Sorry for moaning, have good evening all

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

    Quick flit in and out.

Cranky - I hope all went as well as can be expected and that you and George are bearing up.

Snoozer - sorry to hear your news. I think I'd have been inclined to take it further as it sounds like medical negligence to me.

Diva - hoping the op goes well and you get positive news soon.

    Happy birthday Zippychick.

Have just had a rather yum turkey curry (from last week's turkey). I've discovered that DD loves curry with a lentil-based sauce (like a dhansak, only not as hot) so that's healthy and cheap - perfect! It's also great for my diet - I can eat lashings of it without worrying. I'll have low-fat Greek yogurt and stewed rhubarb in a bit and that will be me set for the evening.

    Have a good evening e1!

Pipkin- don't feel bad about the onion error, when i first made jelly (from a packet, i was about 11 at the time) i thought 1/2 pint meant 1 to 2 pints so i put in 2 pints of boiling water and 2 pints of cold water thinking i'd get loads of jelly.....needless to say it didn't set.

os wise i'm making pickled onions for my grandads xmas present today, and going to try to finish my sil scarf for her birthday so i can give it to her on saturday.

    :D

It was only the other day I was telling DDs they should read recipes properly :o:rotfl:

Thankfully, it was liked [or people were being polite!!!!!!!!!], but everything went well.

I can see your logic in adding lots of water to the jelly fluffybunnies :D

Sending hugs to MSD and positive thoughts for Tris...

Cranky - hope today went as well as possible for you and George.

Molly - sorry to hear that you are not having a good day. Hope you feel better again soon.

Not much OS here today (still with Mum & Dad!). Produced all meals out of freezer/storecupboard, so I suppose that is something. Spoke to Mr P this evening, who assures me he has cleaned our house from top to bottom today - sounds like he is doing the OS-bit for both of us! ;)

Hugs to all who would like one today...

    Evening everyone

Just about sorted now, just need to power this down and pack it away. It is still warm and sunny here, we have been very lucky to have had a really gorgeous October. It is due to cool off a little by the end of the week, but no sign of any rain. Think I may need several layers as the journey progresses.

We should stay dry until we hit France, and then will have wet weather until the middle of Thursday, but hopefully a dry weekend down in Kent, before arriving home on Sunday. Let's hope the bonfires warm it up a little for our return.

:bdaycake: George for tomorrow, and big gentle hugs for Jayne who needs to look after herself now.

Prayers said for Tris let's hope he has a good outcome.

:grouphug: to loads of you not feeling good.

Hopefully if the free wi-fi is working and I am not too tired I may catch up with your tomorrow evening south of Bordeaux.

    Take care - DG

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Hi Everyone, sorry I've not really posted for a few days. I've gotten over my menstrual strop last week, now, and am back in good spirits!

Sorry to hear Tris is having such a hard time of it, Diva. I hope all is well on the other side of the pond, and you're managing to get some rest, yourself.

Laura, I see everyone knows it's your birthday, just as well you weren't trying to hide it! Hope the food was as delicious as you planned, and you got to indulge yourself!!

Jayne, George and Pixel, I hope you are all well, and your day went smoothly. I hope you found comfort in some way from the service, and that George has a beautiful day tomorrow.

Hugs to everyone tonight, give yourselves and extra wee hug from me to fend off the cold.
