My dodgy boss is trying every trick to get rid of me!!

If I had an employee who had spent the entire employment with me working from home for just two days a week, I'd want to get rid of them too.
Especially one with an attitude like the OP.
Some people seem to think their employers owe them a job as a right. Employees like this need a wake-up call.0 -
I'm pretty certain I could engineer a scenario that would leave you out in the cold given your part time/WFH status.
He would simply need to state there is only room for X number of roles working on the site (he can set this - he's the boss) and ensure that it was a round number rather than incorporating 0.4 of a FTE. Assuming you would not be happy moving to a full time role (and that others in the team do not work part time) then you would have little room for manouver if all relevant employees were put at risk and invited to apply for the reduced number of full time roles. Market conditions could easily be cited as the factor for the reduction I imagine.
I guess my advice is take it easy and don't antagonise him. If he wants you out there are always ways and means. I do this sort of thing for a living and can confirm if you p1ss off a Mgr too much then a way can and will be found.

With you on the latter bit Bendix but out of interest why the issue with WFH? Some roles can genuinely allow for this these days and as long as the work is done well and on time I can't see an issue.
IT based roles especially can attract personality types who work best alone and on the plus side, the employer doesn't have to fork out for the office space!

Your Union will know how you and the Employer stand regarding the situation I imagine.
It is a fine line between keeping a specialised position and finding that the company has decided to pay an outside company to handle that type of work for them.0 -
Actually he has got a leg to stand on.
If he decides that the job you do does not take 2 days a week anymore, for example because business has slowed, he can reallocate the duties and make your post redundant. There is already someone else who works on the website to reallocate them to, and when he does a Matrix he can load the indicators in his favor. He has already offered you alternative work, which you have refused, to get the ball rolling, and in his court.
Of course your job may still take 2 days a week and he may just not like you (!gasp), so he may work within the rules and happily pay your redundancy just to be shut of you.
Just because the job still needs doing, does not mean he can't make you redundant. There are many ways and means of restructuring the workforce in order to remove you."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." Hi, has anyone got any advice please, a few years ago I stood up to my boss at work because I found out he was paying me less then my equals!! I !!!!ed him off so bad that he has been trying to get rid of me ever since.
He had tried to make me redundant in the past but backed down when I got on to ACAS.
He is trying it on again - the situation at the moment is this -
I work for this company from home 2 days a week and have been employed by them for 9 years as their employee. My job is updating their website and basically he is trying to get rid of me so he can give the job to his nephew who also works on the website.
He as asked me to do some other type of desk work so that he can make me redundant from that position.
I've told him that I am happy with the job I do thanks! and that he can't make me redundant and then give my job to someone else, so I'm not sure where he intends to go with this but he wants to see me next week as I am on his "at risk" list oooooohhh!! I'm really scared mr big fat bossy chops!!
Any advice please would be appreciated though Im not sure I need it as from where im standing the big fat loser hasn't got a big fat leg:rotfl: to stand on!!
If you haven't noticed there is a recession going on? So here's some advice ....either drop the smug attitude or when you go for your meeting with 'the big fat looser' who has paid your wages for the last 9 years, give him a pat on the back from me as you leave clutching your P45 .0 -
I'm impressed.
Insults, then a snap judgement of a boss you have no knowledge of, and finally deciding the op doesn't want to work there after they fairly clearly state they do.
Cut the mickey mouse crap. It is obvious that the employer wants to employ someone in his own family, rather than a employee.
So lets cut the crap and lets get to the point.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Oh come on you amateur. The OP really wants to work for a pratt who would cover his own backside for his nephew rather han a hard working worker.
