Read your post & phoned Apple up. They are closed today so phoned up the Apple store who replaced it yesterday. They said it was very unusual (hmmmm....) but to bring it in today & they will replace it. However, explained that I wasn't near the store & would do it when I am next in the area.
Decided to wait & make a day of it towards end of the month.
