PLEASE can someone help with my vanquis hell !!!!

Hello, i have got a vanquis card and the reason i got it was to build my credit score. I want to get rid of the balance on the card. So i got myself a halifax plus card to transfer the balance, but halifax have told me that they wont let them transfer the balance. I have tried to get another 0% credit card to try and transfer the balance from the vanquis. But the other cards haven't accepted me to get a card them. which is wierd because i got the vanquis to built my credit score and havent miss a payment but i got acccepted for a halifax. No other 0% will accept me. Anyway PLEASE is there a way to balance the transfer from my vanquis any way.

I really cant understand why Vanquis wont allow the transfer - all they really see is a payment to the account.

You need to call Halifax and ask them to do a "Manual Transfer". You need to provide Halifax with Vanquis' account number & sort code along with the Vanquis card number for the transfer to go through.

The agent may not know how to do a manual transfer so you may need to escalate the call

vanquis just like to make it difficult Im sure so that you pay them more.

please keep the advice coming i need to get rid of this vanquis card .......tried to get a flybe cc didnt get accepted but i get accepted for a halifax plus one with 700 limit .....wierd its like vanquis is telling all these card not to accept me......i need to balance the transfer so i can break free.......HELP PLEASE PLEASE !!!!!!

I don't think Vanquis accept balance transfers to reduce the balance; I've tried this with two cards and was rejected.

Have you applied for an MBNA card? You could transfer money to your bank account at a promotional rate, then you can pay Vanquis with that money.

Just because you had a Vanquis card for a little while, it will not make you credit worthy overnight on its own.
Even Halifax thought you were a poor risk giving you such a small credit limit.

Do you earn a good wage for a start?

I think you expect too much for someone with an obvious poor credit history

Why are people taking vanquis cards and borrowing money on them!!

Ok you have managed to get a halifax card but your are at risk of spiralling into debt borrowing money at 34-59% and then you are back to square one credit wise.

It seems many people will come on here and preach but the most basic of advice DON'T BORROW MONEY ON SUB PRIME CARDS! Is wasted on them I heave learnt my lesson and don't even borrow money on my barclay card.

I swear some people on here need their bumps felt.

Hi Virgin Credit Card DO balance transfers to Vanquis as I did one about 6 months ago.

Can you not spend on your Halifax your normal living costs (petrol, food, mobile top ups etc) and use that to reduce the Vanquis? Which, incidently, you are mad for building up in the first place. I think you need to know how lucky you are to have Halifax accept you.
