Free Broadband from Talktalk

Hi, can anyone tell me if I should take this further.
I am presently with TalkTalk for phone and broadband and was told that I would be paying £17.74 per month plus my phone bill. This would include free broadband that is apparently available in my area.
My phone bill averages about £35-40 per month and I also recieve a separate bill for broadband of £15.00 per month.
When I rang TalkTalk to query this they said that I should be recieving free broadband but are over subscribed in my area at the moment so I have to pay. I feel that I have been mislead because the lady that I spoke to on signing up assured me that I would recieve free broadband and I also have a piece of information from them stating that I would not be paying for broadband and that it was in with the bundle.
My contract is for 18 months so I cannot get out without paying to leave, could I get this contract terminated for false information.
Please advice. Many thanks

Are you on a TT LLU exchange?
https://www.samknows.com
If you have it in writing, then I would see it as a clear case of mis-selling, and that should entitle you to terminate the contract without charge. Have they given you a date by which time you can be put onto an LLU service which will give you 'free' broadband (actually it's not free, it's just bundled with your phone charges under the Essentials package). No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi, sorry to sound thick but what is llu exchange? I was just told that broadband would be free. Thanks0

Local Loop Unbundled.
So is your exchange unbundled for TT?
But if they checked your phone number and told you it was 'free' in writing, then you have a good case I think. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Yes sounds like you have a good case. I take it you wouldn't have taken a talk talk landline if you knew you were going to have to pay that much for broadband. In Progress!!!0
