I had the same problem with my old Toshiba Equium about 5 years ago. Charger not working apparently, but it was the motherboard that needed replacing, and thankfully the lappy was still well within warranty.

That's good then - at least you won't have to touch the lappy itself. :)

Please do NOT buy a cheap clone charger - look at my other posts and you'll see that they can totally damage your laptop.

    Original parts only!

I thought you meant just places like ebay fablad?

I thought places like Amazon were ok for this kind of thing!

Has anyone bought any laptop accessories like chargers/as adapters from computer shops or online before? The thing is Toshiba want £65 for it whereas I've seen online shops selling them for less than half.

It's a Toshiba L300 18D, it seems quite a few chargers/adapters on different Toshiba laptops work with this machine!

    Thanks

Been told universal laptop adaptors/chargers are fine, but not sure which sites are safe to use... Talk of them bursting into flames is quite worrying!

Any local independent should be able to sell you a universal one, Trust is a common brand.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Thanks mate. I've tried to get one direct from Toshiba but it can take up to a month! Usually their electrical stuff is spot on.
