  • OK - I've had my lunch, and I now want to finish the kitchen off.

I'm starting a few minutes early for a HHC between 2:00 and 2:30 - anyone going to join me?

Hi all, I'm back.....Had aword with the cook up the school and she said I could drop DD off at BC at 7:45 to do the other BC but that gives me 10 mins to do what may be a 20min drive and I'm not dure the money will be worth it after diesel.......need an excuse not to do it (even though the money would be useful) but on tue and thu it woul mean dropping off DD at 7:45 to be at other school for 7:55, finish at 9 to be at welsh class at 10 to be at work for11:50.....is it worth the extra money????????????

    Advice/excuses welcome!!!!

    a. work out what it'll pay vs. the cost of getting yourself there & back
    b. if that works out, tell them that if they can't find anyone else, you'll try it for a week and see whether it's feasible (that way if they do ask, they'll know from the start that you're doing them a HUGE favour), but you think you will probably be 10 minutes late as a minimum, depending on traffic.

That way, you'll be showing willing, and you may have a chance to give it a go, which case you'll be able to justify it to yourself if you decide not to do it, and won't feel guilty about turning down the money!

Holly - you said for the 5th time - are they turning off your water without telling you? I'm pretty sure that's not allowed. For a start you need to make sure you have water for essentials, and secondly if they did it while the boiler/DW/WM etc were working it could cause a lot of damage. Can you send the water board after them?

Kitchen/utility floor hoovered while making lunch. Medical insurance paperwork done. I have to go to the post office this afternoon.

Meter readings done. Now I no longer get a staff discount, I want to shop around and possibly look at green tariffs. Oh yes... must call the woodstove place too when I'm done with the house insurance. Suppose I'd better wait till after my work call

I'm sorry I've not posted the results of the HHC, I've spent the last hour trying to get the broadband to work!

    In my third HHC, I:
    Tidied under where armchair was
    tidied and cleaned windowsill
    dried windows and opened them
    pulled out TV
collapsed in shock at how bad it is behind there

    o004s

This is the before pic of what was under the armchair

    Here is after

I can't hoover because it's broken, but at least it's tidy

I pulled out the TV and this is what's behind it - am completely overwhelmed and am going to tackle this gradually over the next day or so. I knew it was bad behind there, but not this bad!

I'm going to bed for a nap now, then need to start getting dinner ready. Need to make some mashed potato before the potatos go off and the same with the runner beans.

I put stuff away where they belong:j, thought about doing paperwork but got to pick dd up from school soon - so I will tackle that tonight. I'm determined to get it all done, I will do October finance first - I've just joined the store cupboard challenge, loads of food in but still get the "there's nothing to eat" - so I will do update inventory do food plan, etc etc..

off to drop stuff to the charity shop before picking her up, then I need to prepare tea (ds & dd are wanting fajitas and I'm going to stick ours in oven with sauce for enchiladas) - I need to make up some more season mix as I used the last up when we had them a while ago!
