Friday ~ Kiddies rooms, Spare rooms or another neglected room DONE STAR PLEASE TOOTS

Not going to get master bedroom finished this week, got far to much washing to catch up with. Been ill for last 3 days, haven't eaten at all, don't even feel hungry. OH got me some energy drink, but I slept most of the time. The house went to pot, so have cleaned up the mess from then, there was no dishes or cutlery left, 3 loads of washing up it took to clean it all  oh didn't think to do it, the floors hadn't been hovered either, all my flylady good work undone:mad:.
Anyway, oh is making tomato soup, I will try to eat some, but my appetite is none existent. On a brighter note I went to costcos on Thursday and saved a fortune in bulk buying:j

he said he hadn't got the room. I said I hadn't either and it's not my place to sort through them. If there's anything they don't want, bring it back and I'll dispose of it. And anyway, that was the deal when I went out in rush hour and the wet and the rain for him on Friday. He saw sense in the end...!

Sounds like a good idea to me. No pressure to sort stuff when anyone has room to store it. What is scary is that I started again with one suitcase and four boxes of books post divorce 8 years ago, DH came with one suitcase and a tin kettle yet now we have an overflowing house - mostly books :D. Someone on here warned me when we moved from a terrace to this place that the 'stuff' would expand and they were categorically 100% right.

  • Its true, I thought when we moved here that we would never afford furniture to fill it, now we are tripping over stuff, mostly toys.

Greenbee, glad you got there and are in the zone so to speak, enjoy it aand the weather, I think its hot in Florida at the mo.:D
It's not as hot as I thought it would be - overcast and windy today, but still warm enough to swim outside which I'll either do later today or first thing in the morning (pool opens @ 5am, work starts @ 7am, but it's all in the same building).

Hope you can sort things out for your DD. She did the right thing, and you're right about her being better off without those kind of people - she's obviously more mature than they are. It's difficult when you realise that the people who you think of as you're friends aren't actually friends - or even people you like - and it's just force of habit that holds things together. And teenagers can be nasty. It's a tough time... I was miserable during my teens and early 20s and wouldn't go there again for anything!

Missed the bus in the end but got the next one and got to church a couple of mins late but as it was full I just slipped in at the back! I wasn't the latest anyway.

Picked up a couple of bits in town from holland and barrett, had lunch with DH then more shopping - had a big rant at the manager of the local s@insburys as the deli counter was shut with a sign saying 'back at 2.15' which was 15 mins away, and i was just popping in so wouldn't still be around. There were loads of staff around (mostly just standing around doing nothing as usual) and yet apparently none of them could work on the deli. I told her it was an appallingly managed shop and that I'd be complaining to head office (which I will!). I came home with steam coming out of my ears and will now have to go to M&S tomorrow on the way home for the bits I needed.:mad::mad:

It must be the day for it, I also had to ask the staff in St@rbucks to chuck out some teenagers who were just sitting around being loud and hadn't bought any drinks!! Felt a bit mean but it was busy and it's not a community centre!!
Glad you made it to church - I don't think being late matters, its the going that counts.

As for Sainsburys - there is only one way to deal with it, and that's to vote with your feet/wallet and go elsewhere. Same with Starbucks (I know you like them ;)), but if you can't relax there, maybe you need to find a couple of places so that you can go to different ones to suit your mood.

New vacuum cleaner bought today as some sort of electrical smoke was coming out of the old one, it is about 15 years old, new one is lovely, 2000watts and got a load of c**p out of the carpets, and I thought they were clean!

Same thing happened to me when I got my dyson... not only was it more powerful but I could SEE the dirt. I made my mum get one, and she now reckons that most of her carpets have changed colour :o

Boddy - as rach says, it's nice to have an admirer. I hope you can stay friends

Toots - well done on all the decluttering. I take it this VIP visit is the inspiration... is this your intended victim, or someone different :p:D

Flight to Orlando was fine. Hotel is nice, I've tracked down a couple of the others who will be here soon, so hopefully they'll show me the ropes as to how we deal with conferences!

Must go and turn the aircon down  (I mean make it warmer... it's like a fridge in here!) ETA - just checked... 16C - my house is that temperature, but I wear thermals and I don't have a fan going to add to the chill!

I have now sent one asking about the heated towel rail - do I need it to be electrically heated as well as working when the central heating is on? I need it to warm the room AND dry the towels...
