Post left on my door mat!

lol my ds loves it when the postie leaves the rubber bands on our step...he wears them like those charity bands, he has every colour under the rainbow now and all free from our lovely postie
Actually our postie is great, really helpful and a credit to royal mail. We really notice it when he's on holiday, the fill in posties aren't usually anywhere near as good as him, post arrives anywhere up to 4pm, they never give you chance to get to the door before they are off, and often shove a card through the door without even knocking to see if you are in, and once the post arrived so wet I had to leave it to dry out before I dared to try and open it.0 -
mine leaves stuff on doorstep, but i have a good neighbour who takes it in.
when on holiday i had my free £41 make up set left and this morning my free bag of sugar was on the doorstep, even though i was in.0 -
I had a parcel hidden under my doormat today. Except it was a large parcel, so it was very obvious! I don't mind though, as I'd rather it was left there than somewhere random like the wheelie binMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

One Christmas I bought most of my son's presents from Amazon and awaited their arrival, what did silly fill in postie do on bin collection day?? Yes he put the parcel containing son's presents in wheelie bin, which was then collected before I got home!!
This was 2 days before christmas eve and as I'd spent all my money my son had no present to open from me on Christmas morning, he understood though and once I'd got compensation from Royal Mail I bought all his presents for him again!! I do have a nice postie now though, my dog hates him (as most dogs seem to do) but he's a nice chap!

We have a nice postie. He leaves the parcels on the doorstep, when we're not in so we don't have to collect them from the post office, which is a bit of a pain as it's only open 7-8am mon-sat, and we're on a quiet road with a front door around the side. :T
However, we did have a fill in postie a bit back and he knocked on the door (whilst I was getting dressed after a shower) so I pulled on my clothes and went downstairs. I got a parcel, started to shut the door when I realised it was the wrong address, recorded delivery and I hadn't been asked to sign for it. I opened it again, and shouted out so loud he couldn't not have heard, yet he still carried on.
Complained to RM and then, 4 weeks later, we took the parcel around anyway. 6 weeks later the (regular) postie knocked on our door and apologised. :T0 -
Had my Vistaprint business cards left at back door today, yet my postie usually gives stuff to neighbour or puts it in the garage (garage if car isn't in front of it).0

Yesterday morning I came home and my neighbour told me that when he came out of his flat our mail was on our doormat!
I have two dogs, and one does bark when someone comes to the door, but I don't see how that what stop him from launching my very normal sized letters through the box! (it wasn't our usual top quality postie).
We live in an unsecured block of flats - there are umpteen people passing through and posting takeaway leaflets etc so anyone couldhave helped themselves....oh...and one of the letters was the pin to access my online credit information!!
I will be penning a suitably grumpy letter which no doubt RM will ignore....
The Postman was wrong to do this...... the correct thing if they consider themselves to be in danger or to get injured is NOT to deliver to that address and report it to their manager. This can happen over a number of days and the Delivery Office can refuse to deliver to the address if the problem persists. You would then get notice of this.
Relief Posties don't know that your dogs are "safe", "locked away".
As another poster has said get a box on the back of the door. Then if it happens again the report it to your Local Delivery Office, don't bother with a letter, it would probably be left on their door step0 -
The trouble for poor posties with dogs on their rounds is that in many dogs' minds they secure a famous victory against the postie every single day
Postie approaches and the dog barks its outrage at the invasion. Postie does his thing and leaves but the dog believes it has driven him/her off, so next day repeats the whole performance and so it goes on and on. Unfortunately, it can sometimes escalate if the dog moves on to more defensive measures to prevent the invasion. I really love dogs, but I don't envy the posties for some of the situations they find themselves in with them.
