I still would.
I've no idea what she looks like or who she is except for this thread :A
I guess her selling this place (if she can) will solve all her financial problems, except for a place to stay.0 -
There is a lovely double page spread feature in tonight's Evening Standard's Property section... The Exmoor Pile: Goodbye to Cold Comfort Farm. I've had a quick look online for a link but can't find one.
In lieu of a link, my summary: Oh no, all those problems I told you all about regarding the hostile locals were sorted out aaaages ago - they're lovey. And the house isn't really falling down like I said. Pleeeeease buy it0 -
Nooooo:D...I worked from home today so didn't grab a Standard.
I can't find the article in the Standard online either.
Is it still 1.9 mill?0 -
I put the title of the article into google and all this Lorna Doone stuff comes up.0

As opposed to Loony Doomed...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I lived in Dulverton just down the road from Brushford for a few years in the early 1970's and I must say experience not to be repeated. If you were an outsider like myself you were viewed with great suspicion.0

Yes, it states that its on the market for £1.9 million, but 'I am open to offers, please do put that in because I want to move quickly, I would like to move before the winter'...0 -
The Evening Standard article has the byline 'urban chic' Exmoor farmhouse. She has a restaurant quality cooker and frankly if that interior is 'tatty and worn' then my house is one step above a fly tip site. It is gorgeous.
It would almost be funny if all her sensational stories mean she can't sell it now she wants out.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. This is a direct quote which shows her memory is somewhat selective:
Now that she has decided to put the property on the market for 1.9 m her colourful descriptions of rural domestic tribulation are not exactly the sort to earn a quick sale.
To get round this LJ is employing the strategy of flatly denying that she has ever voiced any serious disquiet about country life, apart from 'possibly' in the early settling in days.
"Give me an example of something i've said," she demands, in a sharp tone that somehow does not invite a litany of suggestions (through her well chronicled complaints about depressing peeling wallpaper, two-hot-water bottles levels of freezing cold , and the time she was woken in the night by a field mouse climbing under her T shirt, all springs to mind)
EDIT: Actually a closer read shows the restaurant quailty kitchen fittings are in the completely renovated barn conversion she also owns on the same plot and which her animal therapist lives in.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
