  • Hello all

Just found this thread by accident whilst looking for ways to save to afford a baby in the first place and wondered if anyone could advise me on something?

Got married 15 Aug 09 and came off the pill that week. Have had 3 AF's so far and started using Clearblue ov sticks from month 2. Then I bought a CBFM and am on cycle 2 now. However, I have hit Peak today which is day 15 and so loads of BD to come tonight (when hubby finally gets his bum home!) but just worried as to why I can't seem to get a high and go from low straight to the peak? i feel as though I am missing out on a few good days when I could conceive.

Has anyone else had this issue with CBFM?

Hi fluffy I've been using the cbfm for about 7 months now and I've not had a low go directly to a peak myself but I know it does happen, and it is perfectly normal (but bloody annoying I imagine!) It just means that the oestrogen rise and the LH surge happened quite close together. I've had it go straight to high on the first stick and I've also had 10 days of high and no peak. I did ov in those cycles, but just later than normal (I chart my BBT so I can tell if I ov) though I stopped POAS after those first 10 days as I'm MSE after all ;)

I use the cbfm as a guide rather than a "green light" for bding. It can get a bit clinical and kinda misses the point after a few months :o The best (and most likely way to keep you sane while you ttc ;)) way to approach the bding is to do it every 2 or 3 days and then every day on peak.

    Good luck ;)
Never argue with an idiot, he just brings you down to his level and beats you with experience.

  • im back again to send more hugs out to everyone who really needs them
Really hope it goes ok tomorrow katy i will be thinking off you. and thinking about catw0man and jenny.
lets all have a group hug:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:!

Am feeling a bit better about the whole lossing weight, went shopping this evening and went on the scales in boots and ive not lost as much as i thought. and i suppose my body has been through alot recently. Ive decided im going to see what the doctor at the hospital say about my weight then after may go to my doctors and maybe see a dietican, to help me put on a bit, even tho ive been this small since i was about 13years old!!
  • Oh Catw0man - I'm so sorry to hear your news - that's terrible. You've been very brave going for an early scan though - I'm still waiting for one, but I'm worrying that I'm in a similar boat as you - 8 weeks today allegedly but no symptoms whatsoever - all too similar to the previous two occasions. Nothing I can say to make you feel any better, but just to send you lots of hugs, and I'm thinking of you.

And jennyfleur - so sorry that you're going through it all over again - what a total nightmare. I thought it would have been bad enough to have mc'd naturally then have to have an ERPC, but to be strong enough to go for the ERPC in the first place and have to go through it again, is just terrible. Big hugs for you too.

katyj - you're being so brave too. I hated going through that while on holiday and away from home comforts. But looking back, it was definitely preferable to having to cope with it at work. At least I was able to see some amazing things to take my mind off it all. More hugs....

Good to see you back rik - I can understand totally your lack of patience - when do you expect to hear?

Love to everyone who needs it.
  • Hi Astro try not to worry about the scan or what it may or may not show, I know it is very difficult. In some ways I am glad because they are now going to do some tests etc.

Big hugs to everyone who needs them
  • Thanks Catw0man - I think my head is in "self-preservation" mode, as I'm managing not to think about it too much this time. Last time I worried continually, but this time, I'm staying sane(ish) by just thinking what will be will be.... We'll see. More hugs for you. xx
  • Morning all. Sorry to start the day on a real downer, but I'm back to square one again.... Less than an hour after my last post, I was standing on a stool putting up some curtains, when I felt myself start bleeding. No warning signs, spotting, or anything - just immediately full on. Can't believe it's happened again....

Just needed to tell someone, as DH is on a plane - typical - so hope you don't mind. He's getting back today after ten days away, but won't get in until about 6 this evening. That'll be nice news to return to - not. Guess I'll call the EPU once it opens and see what they say I should do, if anything. And to ask them how I go about getting some tests done, whether it's via the EPU or my GP.

rik - do you know what they have tested you for? Is it just this sticky blood thing, or are there other things they can actually test for?

Just feeling numb really at the moment. xx
