Trying For a Baby part 4

  • Hey ladies. This is going to be a really long post, so feel free to skip. I need some comforting please because I'm having a bit of a freak out and I'm not sure how long I can go without unloading the whole lot on OH and as a whole I try to hide how crazy I am from him.

At Christmas I spent a few days with my family, where it became clear that my dad is sliding into some form of dementia. He's always been a bit vague, so we didn't notice at first that he was asking the same questions over and over, but on Christmas he seemed confused, covered himself in food and tried to put my mum's coat on. He seemed a lot better on boxing day but it was still worrying. Since then I'm in a panic, obviously worrying about my dad and who will look after my mum, but then there's the whole TTC problem.

A huge part of me is worrying that since the care of my parents will fall to me (the problem of being the one who has looked after everyone in the past), taking care of a baby and elderly parents probably isn't the best idea. But a larger part of me is telling me I NEED to have a baby RIGHT NOW, so that my dad can meet him or her and that time might be limited for him to get to know his grandchild. (This is also applying to marriage, especially as OH doesn't want to get married). It's like my biological clock has gone into overdrive demanding that this month HAS to be it.

What's making it even worse is that I spent time with one of my sisters who has a toddler. I haven't seen him for ages because she lives back in Ireland. Anyway, he was a bit excited and tired and wouldn't go to anyone. I'd gone to make my wees and when I came out he was toddling about in the hallway. So I scooped him up expecting a struggle and instead he giggled. I took him back through and everyone was amazed because he normally wont go to anyone he doesn't know and he was happily giving me cuddles and kisses.

Arrgh someone tell me to get it together please. I'm not normally this much of a mentalist.

Wow lots of chat in the last few days - been away playing in the snow in Scotland - lots of fun.

Now back to BDing business this week, my pre-seed arrived from ebay and we're feeling more motivated than the last couple of months. Although still nothing appearing on opks.

Welcome to bigbird and lemontree - it's amazing how quickly you pick up the lingo and crossing days off your calendars.

Is it just me or does pre-seed sound like a dodgy BDing practice or something you'd treat your lawn with before you plant grass seed?:rotfl:

Tigtag I am taking Pregnacare Plus, you can get it in any Boots. It has 2 seperate supplements, one a multi vit with folic acid and the other an omega 3 fish oil supplement.
You can start taking them from ttc time to right through breast feeding."

Sorry to butt in, but i'm taking the same supplements, and you can get them from Tesco for about £8 - also on 3 for 2. I think that's cheaper than at Boots? Hope that helps!

Preseed is 'sperm friendly' lubricant, its supposed to mimic cervical mucous. im using it again for third time - dont know if it helped but i did get BFPs between 1 -3 cycles before. It comes with a tube and applicator now so much better value to get that kind - the others are prefilled and only use half so expensive and wasteful!
