Hi Quaver I have 1 ic left! I think I'll sit it out for a couple of days and see if af shows. If nothing by wednesday then may have to try then that will be 16dpo. I don't want to waste it!
Mind you the other possibility is that my prolactin levels have got too high again which is why af stopped a couple of years ago! I had a blood test last week and forgot to ring for results on friday. Always a possibility although I think the dr's would have rung if they'd been too high again but I will ring tomorrow to confirm.

Yeah I'm well looking forward to 2 weeks with DH. And yeah...the weeks do seem to go so fast. Although, the days do as well, to the degree I don't get chance to do what I should! Hmmmm....

Awww Quaver I can't imagine how hard that is. Bless you.
Right I'm off to follow becs (in a none stalkerish way) and am off to bed. xx

  • Hey, I have finally decided to take the plunge and join this thread.

A little bit about me - which will probably turn into an essay:

I am 21 and so is my husband. In June 2006 me and my husband (at the time boyfriend) decided to start trying for a baby ( I know we were only 18 but circumstances were stupid) anyway, we didn't expect things to happen straight away we thought things would happen within 6 months. Well 3 months later I started Uni and we didn't seek help as we were distracted by this. In Feb 2007 we got engaged and I also quit Uni as I thought I wasn't coping. And in April 2007 I was diagnosed with Diabetes and An Under-active thyroid. As things went on in October 2008 we decided to finally get help as we are with a Dr. we are comfortable with. He is really old fashioned and didn't want to do anything until we were married.

We got married in April 09. We had our first appointment with a specialist in June 09 - 3 years after we started ttc. I was put on Insulin for my Diabetes and was told to go back and see him 2 months later. But he also told us to stop ttc. So 2 months later we went back and he said that we could try again and he would see us 3 months later in Nov.

I am overweight and he thought we wouldn't need to see him as I would have lost enough weight with the Insulin that my ovaries would "Spring" back into action. So our hopes were up. When it came to Nov I couldn't find what date or time my appointment whit the specialist as so I rang up and was told that I am not the list anymore. So I need to ring my Diabetes Dietitian who has organised a lot of this to sort things out with him but I keep forgetting and putting it off.

I am currently on 150mg of Levothyroxine a day, 26 units of Insulin a day, 850mg of Metformin a day and 800mg of Folic Acid a day (as I have Mild Spina Bifida Occulta and a Club Foot)

To top things off - my 16 year old sister is due her 1st baby in Jan. And she has named the baby after me. It is hard but at the moment I am really excited about being an Auntie - as it is not the baby's fault.

Sorry this is long! I can't wait to get to know all you lovely people!
  • I'm up late so I'll officially welcome you torioterrier.

I'm afraid I know pretty much nothing about your medication and it's effect on TTC.

TTC is a pretty emotional business so feel free to rant away on here; I find it saves me taking it out on my lovely boyfriend.

    Welcome torioterrier!
I don't know about diabetes, but seeing the specialist should speed things up;)
How is your cycle? Do you chart your BBT (morning temperature)?
  • Thank you elliebobs.

Well having an Under-active Thyroid can cause problems whilst pregnant as can Diabetes and I think it's because of the Diabetes I am at more risk of getting pre-eclampsia. It's because of the problems with Diabetes we were told to take a break from ttc so my Diabetes is more under control. I can't remember fully what problems, if any, that any of my conditions or medication cause, as it is late and I am quite ditsy lol. Although I do know that some women with pcos take metformin, as a "side effect" is getting pregnant. Also I have been advised against taking any contraceptive pills by my GP. I think the only form of contraception is condoms. Which is a good thing really.

I really didn't realise I could "talk" so much!
