It was my 34+1 appointment today and it didnt go smoothly
I have protien in my urine
My blood pressure is too high (140/90), she seemed really concenrened about this and has asked me to stay off on thursday to wait for a MW to come see my at home to take it again (she took it 3 times while we were there, she had me wait in the waiting room between appointments to take it)
And baby is now Breechhe has been in the right position all the way and now he is breech
I asked what would happen if he stays breech but she wouldnt say.
She said if BP is still high depending on what it is she thinks I should finish work this week and not next week, I dont know what I will do about that all my dates are in etc
And I was supposed to go back for 36 weeks, but I have to go back next week now instead
I am slightly worried and concerned.
Oh no ((hugs))
The high blood pressure & Protien indicate pre-eclamsya, but im not saying you do have it. And i hope you deffo dont have it.
And if beany is still breech then the docs may try to turn him back to normal position
I read about it and apprently it doesn't hurt and doesn't hurt the baby either
If i were you i'd take the MW advice and leave work this week, work will be able to sort it. Im sure they wouldn't ignore a medical proffesionals advice. If you go off sick they may just make you leave earlier anyway.
Awww, i really hope it goes ok for you next week
Sending loads of baby turning vibes and being ok vibes0 -
Hi ladies,
Sorry been MIA for a few days, been lurking & trying to keep up but been so busy and not feeling too clever. Must admit, the sperm talk has not helped the sick feeling!!!
Hope everyone is ok?
Kindof try not to worry too much - Elliot still has time to move out of breechTry the spinning babies site JHA once mentioned? I'm not sure what 'normal' BP is so can't comment on that but hopefully it will be better tomorrow, if not, can you take a week of sick before you take ML?
SJ congrats on 37 weeks, woohoo! Nursery is gorgeous
FR I wouldn't worry about the notes, I'm sure they'll just give you new ones?
MFD I wanted a M&P's changing mat but was a bit shocked at the price, settled for a cheap Mothercare one & now wish I hadn't!
CAFC glad you're feeling a bit better today. Try not to worry too much, I'm sure you'll be a wonderful mum and your upset is understandable, your life's upside down at the moment, I'm sure once you're in your own place and settled you'll feel much better
Jopsey sorry to hear about your dog
MV hope all goes well with the scan tomorrow, xx
V jealous of your massage EA, I'd kill for one!
Phew! Well not much going on here, just been busy with one thing or another for the last few days, & just in from a day out shopping with a friend. Bought myself some new boots & some new tops - Primark have some 'long fit' Ts for £2 - well worth buying if you're earlier in preg as they fit right over me in my normal size at 34 weeksHad midwife appointment yesterday with yet another midwife, she was lovely, apparently now measuring 35 weeks so only 1 week ahead instead of 2. She was shocked to hear that I'd not been sent for a growth scan which pee'd me off as I've asked a few times when I've measured 2 weeks ahead only to be told it's 5 weeks that you're sent for a scan, apparently not, grrrrrr. But nevermind, I'm not concerned think it's just cos baby is coming from tall stock!
Apparently he's still in position, his head is very low down, so hoping this is a sign he'll be a timely baby, wishful thinking or what! I can't wait to hear when he's engaged, I'm so ready for him now!
Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0 -

Kindof... I had high blood pressure and protein in wee with DS. Don't want to worry you hun but I ended up in hospital for quite a few weeks then induced. That was 14 years ago:o so I think things are a bit different now as ladies are more closely monitored at home.
Pre eclampsia can be dangerous to mother and child so that's why they get a bit concerned by it but because you will now be monitored you'll be fine;)
I'm at high risk of it this time round as well.BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
hi everyone just putting off going food shopping and posting here instead
SJ - I love your nursery. It's about 10 times bigger than ours is going to be, I'm jealous! It looks so cosy and homey
EA - the massage sounds amazing, i will have to remember that one when I am in my last few weeks!
Fishcake - I'm sure people must lose their notes all the time so there will be something they can do, I wouldn't worry too much but I know how you feel!
Kindof - sorry to hear that things didn't go that straightforward(ly?), the important thing is you look after yourself and it sounds like a good idea leaving work early. Hopefully your BP will go back down but even if you do have pre-eclampsia a lot of women go through this and the medics know what they are doing. I heard one tip for turning a breech baby was to talk to it and tell it to move?!?!
well after feeling really optimistic that my sickness was getting loads better, i've had a pretty rubbish day or so of it, started last night and still feeling rough. Plus has anyone else had REALLY horrible headaches? I know we're allowed to take paracetamol but I tried 2 at the weekend and it had no effect whatsoever and I don't want to keep taking loads.
Then, today at work I went to the loo and had a tiny bit of bleeding. It really was tiny and I haven't had any since but I'm sure you all know how horrible it makes you feel. I'm just gonna take it easy i think...
unfortunately DH is still at school manically preparing for Ofsted so i am at home feeling a bit sorry for myself!
hope you are all ok this evening. i can't stop thinking about food so really will have to go to shops soon!0 -
Hi everyone,
Kindofagilr - sorry to hear about your visit to the midwife. Sending you a hug as it sounds like you could do with one.
My midwife visit wasn't great - apparently the hospital got my dates wrong when I had my scan, and I'm not 28 weeks until tomorrow, so they couldn't do my blood tests and I have to go back next week. I nearly choked when she said that she could come round as 'it's not like you'll be at work now, is it?' I think she was trying to be helpful, but yes, I am still working full-time! My work weren't exactly happy at hearing that they have to let me go next week too.
EA - I think they tried to deliver the sheets today while I was out as I have a red card, so I'll collect them when I'm off on Friday. Thank-you once again for those!Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

Evening ladies.
Been for my post due date appointment at the hospital this afternoon. Didn't see my consultant yet again (only seen him once!!). The lady did do a stetch/sweep and I have to say it wasn't painfull, just slightly uncomfortable but nothing I couldn't deal with. She did warn me that only 1 in 7 procedures start labour and it can take up to 2 days for anything to happen.
She also booked my induction date for next Wednesday but apparently there are quite a few already booked in for that day so it might get delayed if they don't have a bed for me (I have to ring up to see earlier that day before going in at about 4pm). My husband is worried if he would be able to stay with me all the time because he doesn't want to miss anything.

Kindof - try not to panic, those symptoms could also just be down to the usual stresses and strains of pregnancy. Just try and take it easy, and be reassured that if it is that, the midwife's looking out for it and will be prepared.

Should be fine, as long as baby is developing and growing
I've found that I've lost weight but bump is putting on if that makes sense? Overall have gained but my legs, hips and bum getting smaller.
Oh that's me too! I'm 30+weeks and between booking at 12 weeks and then 22 weeks, i'd lost 5kg. My bump is getting huge but i'm still weighing 2kg less than at booking! Same happened with DD and i came out of hospital with her in trousers that had been too small for me when i fell pregnant! Of course not being able to eat for 5months probably helped! lolfirst time its only a tiny weeny bit and i felt a bit sad , as i like my boobs being played withwhen i told OH he said let me see so i started to squeeze it and he said yuk go away , now he wont go near them
, oh well its only one boob at the moment , and i have no plans on BF as bad experience b4 , so will dry up soon enough,
Your OH doesn't know what he's missing IMO!!! lol
Mine absolutely loves it! I'm getting huge now tho so i'll be the one telling him to go away shortly! :rotfl:
SJ - the nursery is beautiful!
Labour vibes to all those needing them!!
Kindof - hope things go well for you, try and relax cos stressing about what may or may not be wont help the blood pressure, best wishes! Like others have said they will monitor you closely and they do know what they're doing. hugs.
I had a midwife appointment yesterday 30+3 (should have been 28weeks but i had to cancel it!) and there was glucose in my urine sample again! This time not just trace but 2 pluses! Thing is i had my glucose tolerance test at the hospital last week and it was within normal limits. I've now to get my growth scan a week earlier - this thursday morning - and then go and see the consultant on Friday morning. Pants!
I've got my DS at the hospital tomorrow after school for his appointment and then i'm back at the hospital for physio for my PSD on thursday afternoon!!! Feels like i should ask for a bed tomorrow and just stay there for a few days! lol
