crikey thats a long time to leave discussing birth plans isnt it?

i think i may have to mention to her tomorrow about my OCD and organisational/planning/preparation quirks...... but i dont want to seem like a total weirdo....
I know everything is still going to happen at the rate at which it happens but I'd like to think if they are aware, they'd have a bit more understanding about why i might need to go over things, ask too many questions, and want to know exactly what happens at the next stage, in such an "eccentric" manner..... but then I could tell them and they could just think im an idiot and have no further understanding.... maybe i'll decide once ive met her.... and sussed her out LOL

just came on to see jha's pics and saw your above post. u don't know me from Adam but I have OCD so thought it might be worth telling u my experience although mine is to do with constantly checking everything is switched off & locked.

MW offered me a mental health referral which I declined as I wanted to manage the OCD on my own however, she did put a purple sheet in my notes as an alert in case things got worse after I had Jack.

since I've had Jack I've been loads better probably because I don't have time to check everything in the house is switched off at least 10 times and I now only check the door is locked once rather than about 5 times!

I think your persceptive on things changes abit when you have a baby - my biggest fear was someone breaking in or a fire but I figure I have insurance what the hell.

    hope that was useful

nursing chairs - I also got my glider rocker off eBay like Som. Worth £120 new, it's immaculate and cost £40 I think. Check the local collection stuff and you can usually bag a bargain. HOWEVER, I've gone from using it for every feed to only at night because I've discovered the couch is more comfortable :p

jha - loving the photos, thanks so much for sharing!!

ironing - why bother??? baby doesn't know the difference and I certainly could care less :p
top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

would like to win a holiday, please!!

  • Have to say I fall on the side of 'Why iron? No point.' But that's my laziness coming through. The one piece of advice my mum gave me years ago that I listened to is to leave most things to dry flat on the radiator = almost as good as ironing! Well, maybe not, but will do anyway.
I didn't intend on bothering with a glider chair, but while I was pregnant with my first, we saw one in our local charity store for £60, and my husband bought it for me as an 'extra' birthday present, and I have to admit I love it.
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

thanks hun, i really appreciate you taking the time to write that up.
I might mention it..... im not bothered about a health referral as i too see it as manageable, and DH can see what im doing and he doesnt class it as "overly freaky" LOL its more the organisational thing in my head, I get quite freaked by lack of information.....

Has anyone had any trouble with bleeding gums in pregnancy? Mine are doing my head in, every so often I can taste blood in my mouth and its often from the same place....

1more - how annoying and down right rude!

Asked my MW at 28 week appointment about birth pmlan and she said to leave it till I had, had my antenatal classes and had more info. Well as first two have been cancelled that means I may not be discussing Birth plan till 38 weeks! Err I think not!!!!! eeek!!!!

Boilers broken :( Landlord has someone coming out tomorrow but thinks it needs a spare part so probably wont be fixed till Monday! God damn it grrr. OH is gonna get the fan heater from the loft but not sure what we are supposed to do about showering.

Oh and ironing, am not planning on doing any once baby is here (dont normally!) but must be a nesting thing cos cant help my self with this first load, everything has to be right.

Glam - nice of you to stop by x

  • Hello ladies - I just want a bit of reassurance/advice please :o

I'm 7 weeks pregnant, got my booking in appt next Thursday at the hospital and so far the only symptom I've had is extreme tiredness. I dont have sore boobs and havent had any sickness (although felt a bit queasy on Thursday at work). Oh my skin is pretty bad too.

I've had a bit of brown spotting on and off, but nothing much. Today however I went to the loo and there was a fair bit of browny blood in my knickers :( It's not clotty or bright red/pink, looks more like the end of a period type of blood IYKWIM.

I'm really scared :( this is my first pregnancy and we were so lucky as I fell preg within 2 months of trying, so thinking I may have been too liucky :(

I'm 36 too so no spring chicken!

Just wondered if many of you have had simillar?

OH has gone out to get me another digital preg test...Its the only thing I can think of doing right now.

Should I try and see my GP on Monday or wait until Thursday (unless of course things get a lot worse)

What a rollercoaster this is. Only 2 hours ago I was in Mothercare buying maternity jeans and cooing over all the baby stuff...
