Sarah_Joanne wrote: »Kelinik doesn't sound like much fun at the hospoital but yey for getting the all clear. Excellent news about your grant too! That was super quick! Do you work? If so when are you finishing?
I'm so glad to be finished now, I'm just so tired!
Yeah I had read on here about it taking a month so wasn't expecting it yet!
I work PT in a pre-school and will be finishing at the end of the month, will be 30 weeks. I know it seems early compared to a lot of you but it not the sort of job where you can sit down (the chairs are all teeny anyway lol!) and because I have such big babies (reason for the glucose test) I'm getting quite uncomfortable/tired already.
From what I remember with my girls I was more tired in those last weeks than when they newborns! Get as much rest as rest as you can. x:heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:0 -
hi all
tinkswings - i live in newquay. despite having early bleeding in weeks 6 and 7, the epu wouldnt give us an early scan so we went to the baby skan studio in truro for an early reassurance scan at 9+5. i would highly recommend it - it was £49 and gave us such a sense of relief that all was well. the lady doing the scan (irish lady called elaine) was so lovely and reassuring, and we got to look at the baby in 3d which was brilliant as you could see it really clearly - included in the price they printed us about 12 2d and 3d photos and gave us a dvd. im even more glad we did it since having the 12 week nhs scan as that was by comparison so impersonal - we were just bustled in and out with very little chat - it was like a conveyer belt. HTH
ps. ive lurked for a while on this thread and its pretty scary to see my name going on "the list" especially as there a quite a few names below mine - almost makes it seem real
Thank you so much for yhe advice on the place in Truo this is where I would like to go. It is good to hear first hand that it is worth the trip xIf you can think it........it will happen0 -
For some reason I thought you were a little bit further on that that, must have imagined it!! lol Don;t feel you have to justify finishing early though!! I worked full time but was a cushy desk job and I finished at 32 weeks! Had 2 weeks annual leave over xmas then ML started at 34 weeks.
I honestly don't know how peopler manage to work longer! It would have killed me getting out of bed any earlier this last couple of weeks!
I am planning on getting lots of rest in preparation! My feet are well and truly up ha ha!!0 -
Hiya
We havea new fridge freezer, the one that came with the house broke (like everything else that came with the house )
So we're making a trip to iceland later to see what they have there
I might pop into the 99p store to, yes im addicted to it. I love it!
Som - Im going with 3 as OH, mum and sister are with 3 and they are the people i call the most
I'll be 37weeks on Valentines day, so what ever we do, it has to be something we can ditch early incase she decides to come as soon as she hits full term lol.
Would love for her to be born on that day though, seeing as her surname will be Valentine
Have my blood tests tomorrow to test my blood sugars, eep. Im starting to not like needles being stuck into me.
Then hospital thursday for the skin clinic thingy.0 -
Hello all, have flicked through the last few pages and glad that for the most part you all seem well.
I am doing ok too as got the all clear for gestational diabetes yesterday. What a palaver though! 10 hrs of fasting (water only), then half a pint of disgusting glucose stuff to drink all in one go then exactly 2 hrs later (still water only) your bloods have to be taken at the hospital.
Well not only did that length of time with nothing to eat make me extremely light headed and the glucose swishing on a very empty tummy make me feel sick the traffic getting there was hideous and it took us an hr to drive the 3 miles to the hospital. We missed the crucial 2 hrs by 25 minutes. Was convinced I was going to have to do the whole thing again but when we explained the lovely midwife said she would still do it but take another vial of blood for some other glucose tolerance test just to be sure. I had my 28 weeks bloods done at the same time too and so much blood in one go must have been the last straw as when she clipped on the last vial I proceeded to almost pass out in the chair!
Anyway I must have looked rough as the we were supposed to take the sample to pathology ourselves and then wait around an hour for the results, midwife said we could go home and she'd run them down and then phone later with the results.
Very relieved to get the all clear after all that!
Oh and my HIP grant arrived in my bank account this morning and I didn't post it until 30th december!
YAY for it being ok, but boo you nearly passed out lol
LOL SJ I know well he is lol, I wish I'd left when you did, I am still here and I am leaving at 36 weeks
YAY for your freezer EAIceland is good lol, OH loves pound stores as well lol

Hi Everyone
Thank to everyone for the messages and p's yesterday, really cheered me up.
Feeling much better today, went to view two houses, one seems really ideal but its finding the money all at once, like deposit and fees. Am tempted to try and wangle something with the landlord, as we just cant find all that at once..... Plus he'll allow our dog :T
Got treated by DH to my first two pairs of maternity pants! Found some in sale in DP's, was expecting to pay £12 a pair, but when they got charged through, ended up £14 total! Got some denim legging type things, and a pair of jeans with bump band (and best of all they are short length!)
Then DH treated me to a long wool top suitable for bump from Primark LOL so not bad for £19 all in....
And now hes making me a yummy sausage sandwich for lunch:D.....
Still feeling quite a lot of stretching going on....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Glad everything is ok with you and the baby nikki
Kindof, have you been feeling bean moving less? Not less in a bad way, but in a 'im running out of room to move!' way? lol.
I dont feel baby as much anymore, but when i do its like she's she trying to do flips and has no space lol.0 -

CAFC - Pleased you're feeling cheerier today.
