aww PP I'm sowwy! Gill had good suggestions too.

CAFC, try cloves or clove oil for your teeth. Toothache is really miserable, hope you feel better soon. I used Orajel (brilliant anaesthetic type thing) for toothache before though I can't find a conclusive answer as to whether or not it's safe for pregnancy so you'd want to check with a pharmacist first I think. I got mine in Boots.

I'm no expert but it is common for the skin flaps to get infected ( this happened to me ) I used Corsodyl mouthwash - it really worked very quickly and one of the girls in work swears by the Corsodly gel ( check if its safe in pregnancy )

just read the label its safe to use in pregnancy, & its for all sorts of gum problems won't help if it the tooth thats causing the pain

Evening all!! I'm now 37+2 weeks pregnant, feeling massive and very tired after spending most of the night on the loo. We're not sure if this is a side effect of the RLT capsules that I started to take on Friday or not.

Can anyone shed any light if this is a common side effect or not?

ALso, can anyone point me in the direction of the thread that was started about 'Things they don't tell you about what happens after you give birth' as I can't seem to find it and I seem to remember there being some useful tips within it.

    Regards

If part of the wisdom tooth has appeared through the gum and part of it is still covered, the gum may become sore and perhaps swollen. Food particles and bacteria can collect under the gum edge, and it will be difficult to clean the area effectively. This is known as pericoronitis.

This is a temporary problem that can be dealt with by using mouthwashes and special cleaning methods and possibly antibiotics. If the problem keeps coming back, it may be better to have the tooth removed.

A mouthwash of medium hot water with a teaspoonful of salt will help to reduce gum soreness and inflammation. (Check that it is not too hot before using it.) Swish the salt water around the tooth, trying to get into the areas your toothbrush cannot reach. This should be done several times a day. An antibacterial mouthwash containing chlorhexidine can also reduce the inflammation. Pain-relieving tablets such as paracetamol or aspirin can also be useful in the short term, but consult your dentist if the pain continues. These should always be swallowed and in no circumstances be placed on the area.

Ahh IHF thank you so much for the offer of the dress, really lovely of you :) Sadly, pink is really not my colour! Lovely bump :D Can't believe how big you were at 18 weeks!
Not to worry. I know, I seemed to get bigger as the day went on and that pic was taken after midnight so I'd turned into a pumpkin :rotfl:

Stef - most EPU won't scan before 6 weeks. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Went to Asda today and they're got loads of new cute baby things in - damn them! Got my smartprice shower curtain too - £1, bargain :money:

My 2p about maternity jeans - I must've bought about 15 pairs and ended up keeping 2 out of necessity (I still don't really like them). Given my time again I'd definately spend the time finding some I love, most probably over the bump ones. I did however buy some bigger sized "normal" elasticated waist trousers from Matalan a couple of weeks ago that I love.

Kindof - I got Monopoly at Asda for £10 which I think was a good price

There was definately something I wanted to ask but I've totally forgotten :o

Thanks for reassuring me that my lack of BH is normal ladies :A

    awwww thanks ladies...
written all the names down to take into town tommorrow, and will make sure i speak to pharmacist about whats safe to use.

I need to get registered with a dentist anyway as i cracked a tooth on the other side, and since we've just moved, still trying to find out where any are that are accepting patients, plus am still waiting for all my exemption bits and pieces.....

Am off to try what bits i can now, not looking forward to salt water gargle but anything is going to be better than this, all my cheek is swollen and everything

The EPU wont do the scan until thurs as they are fully booked nothing to do with gestation. I will be 6 weeks tues tho. Dr seemed shocked that they could not offer anything sooner but did say if i went to a&e because symptoms got worse they would do it as an emergency.
