Hi meltdown pot, people used to say the same to me with DS as i was so big but after starting and stopping so many time. I ended up being 1-2cm for about a week then they induced me as i went over. After i tried every thing!!!!! curries, raspberry leaf, pinapple, bouching ball, up and down stairs, swimming.. even bedroom dancing ( if you know what i mean ) and a had a few sweaps and the pesseres. The baby changes position so many times, from sight it can't be a true sign to when baby comes.
Had my waters broken and that started things. Think people don't reaslies how scarey it can be when your expecting, and especial your first. Every slight pain was a worry, now on my second more relaxed in a way.
Just find it a bit of a pain when people say any day now? no, end of jan first week of feb!! was asked if i was sure it wasn't twins!!!! I know i look big but i haven't even put on a stone yet. I was over weight and was losing it at slimming world before i became pregnant so have not put on so much as i know it needs to come of once baby is here.
Have gone back and read the last 15 odd pages so it nie to see people due around the same time.0 -

I have had 4 kids already and never any probs in that department....but things are different with this one, I think that because of the problems at the start it has been an issue and something we tried to discuss but always got swept under the carpet!!
If I go over we may consider alternative methods.......either that or HOT HOT Curries, long walks, Nice hot bath and bouncing on the big ball:D
Does dtd DIY ahem help at all?? you know if you and OH dont feel up to it? cos i've heard its the orgasm that spurs on the labour? therefore would DIY work? anyone know lol

It would work for 1/2 the equation...you wouldn't get the prostaglandin (the stuff that softens cervix) from the semen, but you'd get the oxytocin (supposed to help start contractions...'natural' pitocin) from your orgasm. Nipple stim also releases oxytocin.
Not much plans for today...prolly pop to the store for some bits in the run up to Christmas. Dying for mulled wine so maybe somewhere does a non-alcoholic version??
39 weeks today! :T Can't believe Christmas is on Friday either. No more snow overnight, but all the stuff we had from before is still around. Think they're calling for more tonight, right?
Almost don't wanna say it outloud, but keep having this eerie feeling that am going to go on Christmas Day and it's going to be a boy. Of course, past eerie feelings have amounted to diddly-squat so I wouldn't give it much thought! :rotfl::santa2:top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

PP - your neighbour is so sweet! it's lovely to know that you have people like that looking out for you
Som - glad to hear all is well this morning, hopefully it was just your body telling you that you needed to slow down (you always seem to be rushing from one place to another in your posts!) and as I have discovered a retail environment at xmas is definitely not the place for a pregnant woman lol! That's fab that you only have 15 working days left when you go back.
I felt really guilty last night coz one of my staff phoned and left a message saying she hoped I was ok and she's made some mincemeat flapjacks so I need to hurry back to work coz they won't last long! Don't think she was in yesterday so she won't know that I'm off till next Tues now.
Can't believe how much better I feel already for making the decision to take some time off - have slept right through the last two nights instead of waking at intervals throughout the night and all my aches and pains (back, shoulders, hips) have disappeared!! You don't realise what stress is actually doing to your body!!
I'm looking at getting this cotbed from mothercare
http://www.mothercare.com/dp/B002JEE1BE/ref=ord_cart_active/278-5001484-4550757?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&mcb=core
Totally fell in love with it last week, then looked at toys r us where they're cheaper but just didn't like them as much. Didn't think we could justify buying the dearer one but it's got £50 off and I found a code for 10% off so it makes it about the same price. So tempted to buy it now incase the price goes back up.....how likely is it that it'll go down further do you think??Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Ohh cool thanks for that guys lol
Aless I dont know if you have an Ikea near you but when we were getting nursery furniture at Ikea we tried some of their mulled wine and it was non alcoholic and lush
Also on the HIPG front mine was paid into the bank yesterday yay lol I sent my form in on 27th Nov so it only took 22 days wow I'm impressed with that, well I am guessing that is what it is lol we have had a bank credit of £190
Also MIL came over last night and she has been saving money on Asda card for us for our christmas food which I thought was nice so we've got £50 on there, going to go to asda in the morning for it opening at 10am to try and beat the crowds lolDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)
