  • Congrats tracy. Well done on the home birth. Well i have just got back from my last mw apt and they nearly sent me to hospital. I had yet another student and she couldn't find the heartbeat, she pressed so hard on my tummy it really hurt and left a nice red mark. She finally found it although it was very faint and simular to mine which they kept picking up. So they wanted me to go to and get the baby monitored on the ward, I was about out the door when my own mw called me back i could see she was concerned and i had to get back on the table and she had a good feel around, he didn't move at all after all the prodding but she found a strong heartbeat straight the way and kept it on me for about 5 mins to make sure all ok. They agreed i didn't need to go hospital unless i was un-happy but he gave me a few jabs after so i have come home to get my breakfast and a cuppa to make him happy. I have a doppler so i may check it this pm.

You prob have gone lou but good luck for the scan. R we hoping the baby has turned or not?

wooooo, surprise surprise, am still here! morning everyone - lovely to see you are thinking of me and the labour vibes and all that.

congratualtions tracy on the birth of your little man!

beenie - wow, 3 days to go

lou - d-day for you tomorrow, hope all goes well!

pp - hopefully you'll be whizzing up the list soon, sorry, am not going to hold off! enojy the school play

gf - hope you get your hipg sorted asap, bloomin midwife.

listening to news24 and apparently in the pbr there is going to be a household boiler scrappage scheme announced, thats about as exciting as things are here in deepest suburbia, mind you murphys law says bet it doesn't kick in before we get our boiler replaced or its fifty quid off the bill or something carp like that. did order new windows this week tho.

som - my god, do I empathise with you about your father. my old man is the village soak, if I do call him, I always make sure it's before noon when he goes to the pub without fail every day. Although he did call me this morning as he thought we might have forgotten to call him with the news - I wonder if he'll come down and see us when little man gets here, I think the last time he visited me was about 5 christmas's ago.

dp has gone out to the il's for something or other - maybe he's hoping when he gets back he'll have hoped I've got showered and dressed and stopped being a grumpy cow. ooh, except now he's back!
  • Hi Everyone hope you are all well,

I have my first ever appointment with the doctor in exactly 1 weeks time and I was wondering what will they go through? What can I expect?

Sorry for the silly question but I'm really nervous! :o

    Thanks Kit xxx

jha- this might be a bit random, but I saw your birth plan you posted and noticed that you have a phobia of being sick. I am a bit like that, and get really panicky about it and was really worried hearing about lots of ladies being sick during birth. I just wanted to say to you that throughout my 44 hours of labour (and a c-section) I didn't even feel sick once! I was absolutely fine, so it's not inevitable at all.
