Mel - I'm so pleased it went well, though I know what you mean about the disappointment when your dates are put back - mine were too, though only by about 11 days, but I was really surprised by how disappointed I felt as a result!
Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

gymfiend- burts bee's are A-OK, and ever so yummy! Their baby range is delish, bit pricey but a little bit goes a long way. I used some of the 'handmade naturals' stuff (the super expensive, but yummy, healing nappy cream) google the co. if your interested, they have lovely stuff.
Always- yeah the nature care stuff looks good, though I haven't tried it. On ething that I was disappointed in was that their baby wipes still contain some nasties even though they are targeted as eco- I think they mean more 'eco for the earth' rather than 'eco for baby' iyswim. I like their nappies though. Just to let you know (you prob already do, so apologies If I'm repeating) that sainsbury's do eco nappies now, just as good as naturebaby ones but not as expensive, and also I read somewhere Asda online do them now and had an offer (not sure if it's still on or if we missed it) buy 3 packs for £10 so they would be mega cheap!
ETA- Always, sorry getting my companies mixed up, the ones I was talking about not having tried were naturebaby, not naturecare. I have used the nature care maternity pads, and they are fab! If their baby stuff is as good as that then brilliant!0 -
Hello ladies,
No chance of me reading back but just wanted to update you that Isla Mae was born yesterday morning at 4.34 am weighing 7lb 6oz.after arriving at hospital at 2.32am.
We had to stay in overnight as baby had passed meconium in the waters but Im home now and will get to writing a birth story soon.
Things are going well, she's beautiful and me and OH are besotted.
Hope everyone else is well and bumps are behaving xBelly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0 -
Good news, Mel! :T My date was put back by a week at my scan, so I understand how you feel! Even that small amount kinda depressed me a bit at first, but I soon forgot about it! You'll soon get used to the new EDD and embrace it
Have been an eBay queen today...bought a lovely pine changing table for £25 and just now won a glider rocking chair for £47! (not a total steal, but considering they are around £120 cheapest new and around £65 in the classifieds, I'm pleased) The glider rocker is my one "indulgence" I have always promised myself this whole pregnancy since we've gotten everything else on the cheap. Both local pick-up so I can't wait to get them.

We are going with OH, me, mam, him and his wife, me and OH are buying the mattress and the wardrobe and some curtains.
He is going to meet us there at 10-ish
And we are going to see New Moon with me, mam, michael, his wife, aunty dot, aunty gill and cousin ben lol
But OH is wanting to change plans for tonight, i wanted to go home, paint the baby's room ready for the furniture tomorrow, but he wants his friend toc oem over nwo
Big hugs kindof. Don't people realise that everything is much a bigger deal when you're pregnant. And you absolutely DO NOT change plans on a pregnant lady! Hope you get it sorted.
I was in tears the other night coz I'd spent ages phoning round restaurants trying to book a meal for a large group of us, then my mate said her new fella didn't like tapas (which is what I'd found) lol And then another night coz I should've been meeting my mate on her own and she said last minute that her fella would be there at first, and I really didnt want to see him coz I was still angry about the tapas thing lol
Lauz - Can't believe they're making you wait so long to see a midwife. I saw doctor at 6 weeks and was told to make an appoinment with midwife through surgery which I got for the following week.
redmel - so glad your scan went well. Do you get another one at 12 weeks?
Many congrats boogelly boo. Isla Mae is a lovely time. Can't wait to see some pics of her.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
thanks jha; I'm not sure who I spoke to today, but I think they were in the supervisors office or something. I just want to know that bean is ok, if I'd have known it would take this long I would've booked a private scan in Milton Keynes!
If you can afford one go for it - there is a private hospital in my city and they do scans and you get to see one of the top nhs consultants to do it - it was about £150 i think. A pregnant friend who is having difficulty with her pregnancy mentally (she keeps thinking it is going to die) is having bits and bobs privatley here is an idea of what they do - just click on the pregnant women link for more info on downs testing / scans etc http://www.innermostsecrets.com/antenatal_care
I still haven't a clue how many weeks I am & not sure whether the butterflies in my tummy are nerves from all this today or movement due to stress! Poor little thing. I'm still feeling frequently sick, which I guess is re-assuring, though very irksome as I work in a shop and I'm always looking for the nearest thing to use, just incase! That sickness is a very good sign:D :rotfl:at the looking for the nearest thing though
Ok I'm decided, now just gotta convince OH, don't think it'll take much, he's all for doing whatever I want anyway! Your oh sounds lovely - can we swap please;):DI'm not feeling a happy bunny at all today, feeling really sorry for myself. Bloomin hormones!!!!0 -
Congrats Boo!!! :j Isla is a lovely name!! :j
